The Red Lion Margaretting — Restaurant in Chelmsford

I want to apologise for the misinformation shared about The Red Lion Margaretting in a post recently made but removed on the same day. It was 100% incorrcet and we realised a short while after posting, that the statements concenrning non-payment and alleged phoenixing were wholly inaccurate and wrong. The fact of the matter was we had been supplied incorrect information that related to seperate co unattached to The Red Lion Margaretting. I have since contacted both Billy and Danny personally to apologise for the unnecessary damage this may have brought to their repuations within our industry and as a company we are taking full responsibility for the mistake. I understand the importance of accuracy and fairness in business dealings and would like to reiterate our regret for any damage the words may have caused. We are now working closely with Danny to ensure that any outstanding issues are addressed in a more professional and more importantly accurate manner....

Telephoned and booked a table for two, next Tuesday evening at 7.45 pm. Gentleman who took the booking was very polite, confirmed the table and said he was looking forward to seeing us. Great I thought, so baby sitter booked and we looked forward to our first meal out in over a year to celebrate missed birthdays and anniversary. LUCKILY I have just, by chance, seen a post on social media that mentions, for next week only, Tuesday is NO FOOD!! Do you not think it would be a good idea to mention this to people when they book a table??? I now have to try and find a table somewhere else to rescue the evening at short notice. I'm just so relieved we didn't just turn up on Tuesday! Lesson learned, good food doesn't mean good service. Nice one...

Been here before and the food has always been superb! BUT on this occasion I went to meet my husband as we were both working close to it. I ordered sizzling chicken covered in onions and peppers with melted cheese on top, comes with chips and coleslaw. What I got was a skillet of chunks of hard chicken pieces with onion and peppers there was cheeses but it had disintegrated on the hot the skillet. It looked like fajitas (if I wanted fajitas I would have ordered it) the chips tasted awful very pale and tasted like they had been cooked in old oil and the coleslaw was very sloppy. It just did not go together as all. Partner went safe with a ham baguette but even that came up burnt. Service people and atmosphere lovely Just I would not eat...
