Ah, what a great place! I ate a meal and had a pint in the back garden at the Red Lion today after work. I could see acres of rolling fields from where I sat, and could hear all sorts of birds. The service was great, and the food was tasty. I was impressed that the proprietor got both of the items I ordered -- a goat-cheese-mushroom starter and a plate of chips -- cooked so well. Many pubs can only handle either the high cuisine or the junk-food, but here I had both perfect salad and nicely browned chips. The Red Lion is just around the corner from the stop for the S3 bus, so, while you can't hear the buses while you eat, you can get on the bus very easily once you've finished.
