Red Lion — Restaurant in Chesterfield

We held my sons celebration of life at the red lion on Friday 26th January 2024, when asked how many we wanted catering for, I didn't have a clue because we know not everyone goes back to the wake, so we said about 100/150. There were way more people than that. The food was fantastic and knowing we hadn't eaten all day due to trying to speak to everyone, the landlady Heather made myself, my husband and daughter some sandwiches and chips and made us sit down and eat for 5 minutes 😀. The bar staff were amazing and the landlady, landlord and their son helped with every request we had. It could not have been more perfect. The procession arrived at around 2pm and people stayed until closing because we didn't want the day to end. The Red Lion hosted our Dads wake for us on 22nd June. The buffet was great and excellent value. Verry disappointed went here for a sunday lunch only to find all they was serving was cold baguettes no hot food, we had beef salad baguette we couldnt find the beef in the baguette the roast patatoes were luke warm it was a disappointing meal.
