Sorry I’m using my secondary account from when I was 14, I’m not a bot🤣 My name is Holly, I stayed here Sunday night as I was attending a wedding literally 7 minutes down the road. Took photos of the room at the time to send to my mum as I was so excited to be there (first time I’d ever booked a room for myself lol) the suites were just behind the restaurant/pub on the other side of the car park. Was taken straight over to my room. Beautifully light and very quiet. They even had some freebie breakfast items such as croissants and orange juice for the morning, which I never even realised until I was due to leave so I did pop them in my bag ready for the journey home. Check in was nice and early at 2pm which allowed me to get ready for the wedding in the room, and checkout was 11am the next day (although I left around 9:45 as I had to pick up my friend from the wedding venue.) My ONLY criticism about this place was that there weren’t any curtains in front of the windows, only netting. Didn’t bother me in particular as I rolled in at midnight steaming after the wedding and went straight to bed without turning the lights on, but not very private for any ….. couples, or anyone staying on their own that might be a bit paranoid. Again it didn’t bother me but it might bother someone else. OH also the front door was a nightmare to open and needed a good shove.
Other than that one thing it was super nice and I’d definitely stay again if I’m ever...
Read moreReally enjoyed my short visit to the Hamilton Arms Suites and Thai Restaurant/Pub! The rooms are very spacious and well equipped with everything one would need including a modern large and warm shower, double bed, TV, fridge and great lighting with the skylights. The rooms feel nice and airy with modern fixtures, everything was cleaned to perfection. I travel around the UK with my work almost all of the time and I'm starting to use places to stay in smaller villages because I've found places like the Hamilton Arms offer far better surroundings, value and friendly faces at the end of a long day - all at a great and very reasonable cost. Safe Parking is always my No1 point of concern and the Hamilton Arms offers fantastic private parking, right outside your suite which is hidden from the main road (the 'main road' is also very quiet and secluded) - I had no concerns at all that my vehicle would be at risk and there was plenty of space available to park. Massive thumbs up and appreciation from me for this! The food at the restaurant/pub was lovely, really nicely cooked with plenty of taste and a massive portions! Good well known beers and drinks are also offered and the costs were very reasonable indeed. Absolutely recommend the Hamilton Arms for anyone wanting a lovely place to stay in this area with quiet surroundings, nice place to eat and drink - all at a very reasonable cost. (with excellent parking facilities). Would absolutely...
Read moreI used to visit The Hamilton Arms with my Dad when I was a child and it was one of his favourite pubs. We absolutely loved the food and the service. I remember exactly where we would sit and the food we would order. I always loved the little stall selling Thai gifts in the corner of the pub. This was about 18 years ago if not longer. I visited today with my partner to celebrate what would have been my Dads 78th birthday. The food was exactly how I remember it and the flavours instantly brought back those special memories with my Dad. Even down to the little dish of the cucumber relish. I was telling my partner about the man who used to own it - I had assumed it had been taken over as it had been so long. That was until our bill was brought to our table by that very man! Amazing! So happy that this place has not changed one bit - including the owner. He’s still exactly as I remember him. My partner was so impressed with the food which has made me really happy. Cannot wait for our next meal here. I’m just sorry it’s taken me so long to visit as we have always been reasonably local.
Also a shout out to the locals. When we walked in we were instantly greeting and welcomed with a smile and Hello. How lovely. Too often you walk into a pub and feel like you shouldn’t be there with some of the locals....
