This rating is based on breakfast alone and how in different the service was during our last meal. I realised the second I got my breakfast why they didn't specify what was on it that was because it came with no toast no beans No hashbrown of any sort it came with a nice bit of Bacon it was a bit different smothered in time I'm a mushroom with time I'm no butter no toast ended up finishing my entire breakfast before they blow out the sausage that I said they missed off which was a hockey puck on a plate my brother and Dad had a smoked salmon bagel the bagel which was stale the eggs were overcooked including on my breakfast the eggs for overcooked too much oil sloppy tops burnt underneath I just cannot believe the audacity to not only service that but then charges £14 per breakfast I genuinely had my hand over my mouth to stop me from insulting the staff because I know it's not their fault. The saving grace was that they gave us the two kennels breakfast free .how ever that does not excuse the poor service and quite frankly distasteful food that was provided in that breakfast it was clear that they had a wedding on due to the fact that obviously the speed of things getting missed and the lack of quality of food we were all incredibly disappointed as this is not all we expect as members of the golf course to be service mediocre food for how prestigious this is is and how prestigious Goodwood golf course is we just expected better it was not...
Read moreWent here twice in one week. Once with my mother who has a social membership & had a bar lunch (no need to book, but first come first served if there are tables available) & second visit with my father who has Goodwood horse racing membership for Sunday lunch, which was booked in advance. Both times enjoyable & food was excellent. Lunch was light bites, croque Monsieur & BLT on sourdough with hot chocolate & latte. Sunday lunch was a roast & thankfully a few other options (I had haddock & chips). Service on both occasions very good. My father is on first names with a lot of the staff as he frequents the bar often for lunch. You have to be a member of some sort to go here but you then are able to take guests like myself who are non members. Plenty of parking literally across the road, but be careful when crossing as this road can be treacherous. I'd say dress is smart casual, unsure if this is an unwritten rule if you like. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the bar area & by the fireside seating at lunch. There is more seating outside the bar area in the summer on the terrace, but on this occasion no one was outside as it was December. Both delightful visits. Waiting to be...
Read moreWow. Just Wow. We just had our wedding here. With all the grandeur of a manor house, the setting was the right mix of informal formality.
Whilst the grounds and views were spectacular, the food matching that of a fine dining experience and the wine selection being incredible, that all pales into insignificance when compared to the staff. Huge thanks to Rhiannon, who helped us organise the day, Kevin the sommelier, Jake and the serving team. But Jainey was the most incredible support on our big day. She loves what she does and it beams from her.
Anything we wanted was either magicly already done or no trouble and done in moments. She made all our guests feel welcomed, relaxed and cared for. The ability to deliver almost invisible yet perfect service whilst also being there for the bride at all times is something of a miracle.
She is a credit to your establishment and all of our guests commented on how good the front of house team were.
Thank you to the Kennels. You made our special day all the...
