After having received our drinks we were told I will be back in a couple of minutes to take your food order. This did not happen. Still waiting over 25mins. We had to go ask for our order to be taken. People arriving after us had their orders taken and food brought to the table whilst we still sat there waiting to order. I ordered the trio Sunday roast, beef, chicken and pork. When the food arrived I was taken aback at the lack of portion size. There was two slices of beef, one thin slice of pork with a carving hole in the middle and a very small piece of end cut of chicken. At first I thought they had brought me a children's meal. The experience encountered here with quantity, quality of food together with the service was well below the standard for the price being charged. Other tables were also experiencing order inaccuracies, the table next to us ordered chicken and received pork. Another table got up and walked out after they had asked where was there dinner twice, noting that they were here before us. Another table asked where was there cauliflower cheese and still never received it. I suspect we got it. Overall we were disappointed with the service, quality & quantity for the price paid. ย ย ย Read moreA very nice family pub with great value food. Ok so I am a Local and live round the corner but since Colin and Karen have taken over the Travellers Joy we have always been made to feel most welcome and thatโs with Butler and Peggy my Newfoundland dogs. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly with a good selection of real ales and good value well cooked food served all day. The pub gets very busy and it is best to book a table for food but if you just turn up and are willing to wait a table will always be found for you. In colder weather the pubs has wood burning stoves / open fires and is very cosy. The pub has lots of good parking a very nice enclosed beer garden and itโs an ideal watering hole for walkers just across the road you can walk to the sea front and the coastal path 10 minutes away. It is a very friendly well run country pub with lots of atmosphere and a...

Bar man (young kid with black hair and tattoos) ignored us whilst talking with colleague and other customers at bar for nearly 5 minutes as we stood at bar.
If he intends to continue in the pub business he needs to be sent on an intensive customer service course and lose the attitude!
We finally got his attention and he reluctantly served us, he did not give eye contact or say please or thank you and did not try to upsell even though we were looking at menu in his view whilst waiting for drink service with the intention of spending on food for two.
Appalling service!
We drunk our drinks and went elsewhere where they definitely appreciated their customers and the additional spend on food!
The Travellerโs Joy definitely NOT These...
