Far too expensive for the drinks. I was charged £5.00 for 1 pint of Staropramen!!! In my local, a pint of Stella Artois is £3.15...that's a £1.85 difference in price? Obviously you are paying for the location and although this is a lovely old, village pub, with beautiful, young and efficient staff, smallish car park, with seating area outside and possibly free WiFi?...I can't see myself coming back here...as I truly believe that they are paying any no more than £55-£60 for a 9 gallon barrel...so you do the maths...almost £4.00 per pint profit. If your budget is better than mine, you will probably love it here, but as a disabled pensioner...it's way too rich for my wallet.

The White Horse of Eastbourne's menu shines with its array of delectable offerings, especially the chocolate brownie. This dessert is a symphony of textures and flavours, with a warm, molten centre encased in a delicate crust, accompanied by a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. Each bite is a harmonious blend of the rich chocolate and the cool, sweet ice cream, creating a dessert experience that is both comforting and indulgent. It's clear that The White Horse of Eastbourne takes pride in their desserts, presenting them not just as a final course, but as a highlight of their culinary expertise.

I just wanted to say thank you to the staff at the pub, they were intentive, friendly and professional. We had a wonderful lunch and a really informative meeting. Food was delish!

I know the pub and there is not much to dislike hidden gem incredible setting and gardens and normally worth the inflated prices just for the ambiance but went there on friday and my party found it difficult to find dishes on the menu that they really wanted to eat and certainly i have been there before when there was a much better menu available-when meal started service was great and the starter arrived quickly and although there was wait for main it did arrive within a reasonable time- a few of us had the slow cooked pork and whilst a nicly constructed dish it was not the best as the pork was a litle on the tough side and the crackling lacking crispness. The restaurant by this time was now full and we waited and waited for table to be cleared which eventually was after we managed to hail someone and asked for desert menu again we waited for oder to be taken and eventually got up to ask for service-we queried how long dessert would be and were told 25 mins Bearing in mind all the deserts we ordered must have been pre-cooked/pre-prepared could not understand reason for delay. When queried manager was extremly off hand and said they were busy and thats how long it would be-we decided having been there over two hours that we couldnt wait any longer and asked for bill-no one came to collect payment so again had to get up and go to find someone to pay,We came away extremly disapointed havin paid quite a lot of money and feeling like we had been treated fairly badly-clearly they could not cope with the numbers of diners,What was equally annoying is that we saw others eating different dishes to main dinner menu and when asked after we had ordered mains why those dishes had not appeered on menu were told they had been ordered from lunch menu which we could of had if we had mentioned it when booking-well we didnt know and why should we?i was looking forward to showing family and freinds this wonderful pub and although they agreed it was in terms of looks delighful im unlikly to pursuade them to return-a great shame as im sure they can do...

Very disappointed in this pub !! Husband and I went for a meal Saturday night. The pub was not busy , we were seated right away and received drinks shortly after ordering our meal. This is where is all went downhill...Starters arrived 30 mins after order taken . Husband had soup which was cold, not lukewarm cold ! Sent back and had it reheated. Then we waited 40 minutes for our main course. Bear in mind I said the pub was quiet ..My steak arrived RAW , was meant to be sirloin but never seen one that looked like this even waitress said she could not believe how it had been sent out. I sent it back and told them not to bother didn't feel hungry anymore. Husband had fish and chips which was okay. I do not normally write reviews but was so annoyed at the service and food we received. This pub needs to really think hard about wether it wants to stay in business and be supported by locals. It was truly a terrible experience and we will not be...

Drinks service was good, seated quickly friendly and amicable host. Was told the kitchen was closed untill 6 (we arrived at 5:15) no problem, will have a drink initially and they would be over to take our order. At half 6 I went to the bar to order. Not busy, but easy to forget - no worries.

Ordered two 10oz steaks, one blue, one medium, with peppercorn sauce. The steaks came, smaller than the grilled tomatoes and overcooked. Both at least medium. The peppercorn sauce we had to ask twice about before it was brought out. Chips were deep fried, without blanching and therfore crispy and bland.

We discussed complaining/ sending it back yet decided against it - very local pub, almost out of the league of gentlemen, were concerned as to the response we would have got!

The main aggravation is the cost, at £19 a steak this was a wetherspoons quality meal at michellin...
