Bay Horse — Restaurant in Chorley

Visited today with my husband at noon.We ordered drinks and food was told on ordering it was a new menu we usually visit a few times but we didn't know this and asked when it changed and was told about 2 weeks ago. So we proceeded to order cheesy garlic bread starters for us both as they no longer do garlic mushrooms. 😔 My husband ordered hunters chicken but the name had changed. Smallest slither of chicken smothered in bbq sauce with very dry tasteless chips and petis pois peas instead of garden peas. I ordered rump steak which came with same dry chips and petis pois peas but had an extra portion of onion rings. The steak was full of grissly fat and I couldn't eat it the chips tasted awful and dry and the whole meal wasn't very nice. Nobody asked us if our meal was OK and it was as we were leaving the bar staff asked and my husband said not really and explained. The young lady told us that it was under new management and was a new supplier and nothing she could do about it. After paying £46.00 for a meal we will not be returning here again worst...

This is a pub close to my mother's, I have obviously drank in here many times over the years. Tuesday was the first day I'd eaten here for many years, it's was burger day and for £5.99 you got a burger and chips with a drink. I have to say this made me worry about quality! I ordered the triple chicken burger, which was a chicken breast, pulled chicken and a piece of southern fried chicken on it which was superb ! My mother had the surf and turf one (beef and scampi) which she said was excellent. Overall a superb lunch at an amazing price, staff all really nice and helpful. Will definitely be back, seems like they have a deal everyday.

Not been here for a while and visited today with my mum and son. We had the 2 course for £7.99 lunch special. My son and I had the steak sub and chips, mother opted for the steak pie and chips , I have to say great portion sizes and the food was really tasty. We went for the dessert instead of starters, the Eton mess sundae was superb and big. We will definitely be back the staff are...

I used to come here frequently with my mum when I lived at home (over 10 years ago!) and for whatever reasons, haven't been since. We were out today with the baby and after looking at the menu online we thought we'd give it a try. First impressions - the place smelled fresh, was very clean and it was apparent that the staff paid attention to detail as the menus on the tables all faced the same way (sounds silly, but a refreshing change from the sticky, dog eared menus you often see in the chain pubs!)

Staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming.

Few issues with stock due to changing ownership but the food we ordered was hot, tasty and well presented. Plus the lunchtime deal was great value.
