We went to harvester in Buckshaw village Chorley to have a nice relaxing family meal we was waited on by Jaz. The starters where edible we had the potato skins which where burnt, the nachos which had to be sent back and then the vegan nachos, as a table we had barely put the last mouthful of food in our mouths when Gemma the manager on shift I’m assuming dumped our mains down infront of us and walked away not saying what they where. We had two bird, surf and turfs and one simple chicken. She then came back with the last of the food and again walked away. None of the starter plates had been cleared we had to stack them up our selfs so they where out the way! After a solid 10 minutes of staff walking past I myself got up and cleared our table so we could actually move and eat comfortably. The mains where no better it was simple freezer food the chicken was just covered in Cajun spices to hide the fact it was from farmfoods freezer section and the steaks tasted like they had only just been defrosted and thrown on the grill. On the simple chicken the veg was practically still frozen and cold whilst the jacket potato might as well have still been in the ground it was that under cooked. We would have had better chance contacting my Nan than we would have had trying to get the attention of someone working their. The check back was then only done after we had all finished. By finished I mean pushed the food round our plates and had a slight nibble of it before turning it away. The customer service was shocking and the food no better.

Avoid! Firstly the staff are really good, they've got a tough job to do at Harvester. Service was spot on. The food was really bad. Started with the Nachos, which had really bland sauces. The salad bar was close to empty, no tomatoes or lettuce. No bread either. The main courses of chicken stack and chicken burger were dry and overcooked. We didn't end up finishing the meals or the side of the onion rings as they were too dry. Previous review.... Much improved. The service was a lot better, Stuart was incredibly helpful and punctual. The quality of food was a lot better too. From 2018... Disappointing. Lots of items on the menu were not available but the waitress didn't know this until after the order was placed. The quality of the good has also dropped with the salad bar looking like the food had been there for days. A real shame as it used to be really good.

Came here for breakfast today with my mum and baby. Staff were friendly and welcoming, set up the table with a highchair and took our order promptly. Food seemed quite slow to arrive despite the place not looking busy, but we saw several deliveries being taken out by Uber. My mum had the Eggs Benedict, which she was a bit disappointed with as the eggs were hard. I had the classic breakfast which looked great except for one egg which had been under the heat lamp too long. However, when I picked up the toast to butter it I saw that I'd been given half a crust, half a slice that was decent and two halves that were burnt but turned over and hidden beneath the other slices. Given how long we waited would it really have taken much longer to do more toast? There was no checkback so didn't bring it up at the time, poor girl was probably too embarrassed.

**Updated EOTHO edition** I have only been in a few times but every time I've visited the staff have been absolutely lovely. I love that the Harvesters still offer the free salad with paid meals, and the meals themselves are nice enough, and the menus have a lovely variety of dishes. I also like the free refill Pepsi fountain as it has a cherry option, and other flavours too. Yum. Definitely one of the better Harvesters I have been in. August 2020 - as part of the government discount scheme, just been back for a spontaneous lunch date, and the manager kindly squeezed us in. Very well organised, pleasant, friendly, great food, busy but didn't have to wait all that long, a lovely experience all round. And 3 courses later and drinks for 2, and it only cost me under £12, amazing. Thanks Buckshaw team, very happy customers!!

We used to visit Harvester pub restaurants regularly, having found the food to be great quality with an excellent all you can eat salad bar and great value. The breakfast buffet was also an enjoyable experience. However the quality seemed to go downhill at the Buckshaw Village restaurant with the salad bar nit being replenished, sauces spilt all over the food and lacklustre service. This got worse each time we went back, after the third time we have never been back here and it has put us off going to any Harvester since It's a shame as it was a good go to option both locally and when travelling round the UK, but wont be going back unless we can be convinced they've regained the originally excellent standards.
