After getting recommended Frederick’s multiple times, we decided to give them a try. Sadly, we were very disappointed with our visit. It is difficult to find a place to park as it is on a busy main road with limited parking, so you may have to park a distance away which isn’t ideal. The shop itself is very small and cramped, which I found rather anxiety inducing. I was surprised by how small it was as it looks much bigger online and from the outside. We got a crepe and a waffle. While they looked amazing, the crepe was crispy and chewy, which made it more like a tortilla than a crepe. The waffle was fine, but it was the ice cream that really let us both down. It tasted cheap, like you could get it at a supermarket. We tried the lotus ice cream and the chocolate ice cream. The lotus was just vanilla with pieces of lotus biscuits mixed in, and I noticed a few blue streaks in it, as well as it tasting off, which suggested to me that the scoops hadn’t been cleaned/rinsed properly between uses. My partner said his ice cream tasted the same, also having an odd taste. I’m sure that at least a few of the flavours here are great, but it really does suggest quantity over quality to me if they can’t get chocolate right, a classic flavour. Sadly we will not be returning as I have had much better ice cream from other local places. I will say that the staff were friendly and helpful, so no issues there, but it was a...

Frederick's is pretty much an institution locally, and it's always a pleasure to visit on a hot day, when the queues are out the door and down the street. Inside it is small and cramped, but clean, even when busy. There are many flavours on offer, from the ones you'd expect, like cookies n cream, raspberry ripple; but with plenty niche, like forest fruits (a fave of mine), drumstick flavour, vimto, and so on... On this particular visit my wife plumped for a cone, with drumstick and cream soda. She wasn't keen on the cream soda, (a dry powdery/gritty texture) so much do she returned it and with no quibble the staff offered her a replace s scoop of a different flavour in a tub- she took a yummy orange n choc. I had a sumptuous 2 scoop strawberry dream Sunday. A generous helping of strawberries, forest fruits and cookies n cream flavours with whipped cream on top. Heavenly. Truly creamy and lush cookies n cream, the forest fruits pleasingly tangy and refreshing as a sorbet. Highly recommended, can grumble at the price but its not excessive and you are paying...

Enough is enough...there's too many accidents or near accidents on this busy main road outside Frederick's. After so long in business, it's utter bonkers that this establishment hasn't got it's own car park by now...or atleast asks customers to park far enough away as not to cause problems for others/& unnecessary accidents. Yes they want the business & they certainly get it, but at the expense of a huge number of idiotic people leaving their cars double parked on the busy main road, right next to traffic lights & in front of residential properties blocking their driveways. These residents MUST be totally fed up & deflated of asking these idiots to move their cars to get to their driveways. Come on Fredericks, sort this dangerous situation out & asap. P.s it would certainly be better for the accident situation if the council came out to paint double yellow lines of both sides of the roads, yet that wouldn't be idea for...

I know there are mixed reviews on Frederick's...my personal experience has always been extremely positive. This is with my visits going back years! I have never been disappointed. There are lots of different flavours and combinations to throw every child into a sugar rush 😀 If you're on a diet, bring your willpower 😂 The staff were lovely. Yes, the shop can be very busy, but doesn't that just show how much of a little gem this shop actually is? Parking can be very difficult as it is on a very busy main road, but this still isn't something that should keep you away. Will no doubt be back with the full family again soon!
