Traveling in a large family group, 17 people, we had a hard time finding good places to accommodate us. Our minibus driver mentioned that one of his favorite places was Spinners at Cowling and he was headed over there after he dropped us off. We called ahead, and they happily agreed to set a room for us.

We were seated immediately--a welcome relief after a day of walking, and our host informed us that as everything is made fresh, he can adjust any dish to accommodate whatever dietary needs we might have. (Queue heavenly choirs!) We had a several--one vegan and a couple of gluten-free peeps.

The food was wonderful! Everything fresh--except for the fabulously aged English cheddar. All 17 of us were blissful over our meals, and we shared the joy by shamelessly tasting each other's food. My sister sitting next to me had an exquisite 3-cheese torte.

The room was warm and comfortable. We had plenty of space and excellent service. Cheerful servers. I'm sorry to gush, but this was a perfect dining experience.

Thank you, again, for the...

The Spinners at Cowling never disappoints. I eat here on a very regular basis and cannot fault the food, service and atmosphere. The staff both front of house and kitchen staff are very attentive and passionate at delivering first class service throughout. The menu changes on a regular basis with some great offers throughout the week. The standard of food is always consistently at a very high standard, which is what the owners, Glen and Emma insist on from every member of the team.

For reference the Munchy Monday at £13.95 for 3 courses and Thursday lunch special menus at £12.95 for 2 courses offer amazing value for money with the usual high standard of quality of food.

Great variety of choice as well, it is not just a set menu one dish per course with no option, there is something for everybody.

Other offers are the amazing Steak deal at £29.95 for a 7oz fillet with all the trimmings, choice of sauces and a glass of wine or beer included. Thursday and Friday is pizza day - 1 x pizza of various toppings and 2 x pints of 1664 beer...

My wife and I recently took our disabled daughter here for her birthday meal, and while we were grateful for the staff's helpfulness in accommodating us despite our late arrival, our dining experience did not meet our expectations. To start, I ordered the king prawns in a thin milky chilli sauce. Unfortunately, the prawns were overcooked and tough, which made them less enjoyable than I had hoped. For our main course, we all opted for the beef stroganoff. Regrettably, the beef was similarly tough and chewy, making it difficult to enjoy. The sauce was disappointingly thin and lacked flavour, and the rice served alongside was watery, further detracting from the overall meal experience. While the staff were friendly and accommodating, the quality of the food left much to be desired. I hope this feedback can help improve the dining experience for...

Had Fillet steak with Diane sauce which was SUPERB and cooked exact to order. Desert was chocolate fondant which was also excellent, however, the first one that came out had burst (and at £7) it was rightly sent back, which meant my partner ate theirs whilst I waited a further 20 mins for the 2nd attempt of mine to arrive. When it did arrive it was as good as I could have asked for! The staff were friendly and helpful but almost seemed over staffed with lots of different waiters/waitresses attending to us at various times throughout the night to ask questions that had been answered moments before to one of their colleagues (better than under staffed though!). On the whole, a lovely eatery with excellent, well prepared food. Definitely worth a visit.
