Tanners Lounge Bar, Restaurant & Function Suite — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

We were here yesterday for my Daughter in laws baby shower, when we arrived the room wasn't ready for us. The girl organising the event wanted tables a different way but that wasn't allowed. The lady behind the bar was very abrupt and it was like everything was too much trouble!!! My dil paid £160 for a buffet £8 each and it was extremely limited, no cakes were provided which were on the buffet choice chosen and the women (Pauline i think) only got hot water for the tea and coffee when asked "she didn't think anyone would want it, so she didn't bother" (her words) unfortunately this is not a place any of us would recommend for this type...

4 of us went to Tanners today. My daughter and I were very disappointed. We always get Haggis fritters, which usually consists of 3 large fat ones.Today it was 2 very thin ones, we never even tasted the haggis. For £6.50 it wasn't good enough. I also got chicken Balmoral which was lovely but I was only given 1and a half small potatoes with it. I know everything has gone up in price but...

For the 3rd year we came to Tanners to spend the first day of the New Year. My meal was really lovely. The haggis starter was just right and the steak pie delicious. I had cheesecake for dessert which was also lovely. The service at the bar was excellent even though it was busy. The band played for the afternoon and they were even better than last year.
