Jack Hare's Bar — Restaurant in Cotswold District

Overpriced and poor service. I’d suggest to keep driving, there are plenty of other nice pubs and bars in the area.

Not very welcoming staff, no change from £50 for 3 drinks & packets of crisps. We called ahead to check for food, and were told that ‘light bites and sandwiches’ were available, only to be told they weren’t after driving out of our way to go there.

Young lady serving was unhelpful and unwelcoming. Nobody at the bar when we arrived, and when serving at the bar it felt like it was an inconvenience to her to make us the £15 gin and tonics, which didn’t even fill a glass. The place was not busy either.

As we finished our drinks, the same server approached us to inform us the table we were sat on (which also hadn’t been cleaned) was needed, but in over an hour and a half from that time. Very bizarre and so we made a swift exit.

I used to be a regular visitor to this Foodies Heaven about 10 years ago when I lived in Malmesbury. I have since moved to Bath and this was my first trip back with my son. We both enjoyed well poured pints of Guinness. We both opted for the gazpacho soup and a portion of chunky fries. The soup was delightful and the fries were perfectly cooked.
