We visited the pub few years ago and it was amazing so we decided to come back, since we moved back to the area. The food was beyond disappointing. We ordered 9 wings to start, 6 arrived and pink in the middle. Luckily, they were replaced and we didn't have to pay for them. We then ordered our mains, my partner's daughter order ham and egg. The two thin slices of ham did not taste of anything, there were NO vegetables on the plate just a pile of chips. Me and my partner both ordered steak. I have to have mine well done as I'm pregnant, but that never meant it wasn't nice, just not cooked how I would ideally like it. Not this time. The £28 (!!!!) steak ( plus extra £6 for I think 3 very overcooked prawns) came destroyed!! The edges were so dry, they were beyond inedible, the middle was the texture of cardboard and it tasted like it too. Half tomatoe had a weird taste to it and the massive pot of oil or butter sitting next to the steak was just unappetising. The only ok thing were the chips but we asked for some mayo to eat them as they were a bit dry and that was just bad! How can you make mayo taste soooo so bad?? My partner didn't eat half his steak, I forced down as much of mine as I could as it's a source of iron for the baby ( why i order in the first place) and when we were asked how it was and replied ' barely edible-ish' they didn't really care. We paid £90 for a meal that none of us enjoyed. What a waste!!!

EDIT! as always, I'm very pleased to get a reply from the restaurant, but I don't think it makes a lot of sense to say you care about the feedback and then go against everything I said. You might be happy with your service, produce and taste of your food. That just says something about you! I, however, as a customer, have a right to share MY experience of it. The steak was not a good quality one. It was thin, dry, overcooked and tasted bad. I DID NOT eat all the prawns!!!! I had one to try and one was split on my plate to show my partner how overcooked and chewy it was!! There was one still in the bowl! At extra £6, IT WAS SHOCKING!!! It might also shock you to find that some people actually know their food, so saying it was herbs that made tomatoes taste weird is a lie! I know herbs and that taste had nothing to do with them! If I could go back, I'd take photos of your nasty food and I would refuse to pay, as it wasn't worth £5 let alone the price we paid. YOU DIDN'T EVEN GET OUR DRINK ORDER RIGHT!! And my EXACT words were: it was barely edible-ISH!!! Sorry, but unless you sat on that table with us, eating that 'less than' food and being part of the conversation, you are not in a position to go against my word! I 100% stick with my original review but would like to add that the management is...

Our family enjoyed a nice Sunday roast - 3 of us ordering the roast beef option with Yorskshire pudding, one the lamb and one the sea bream with cream polenta. The roast was decent enough, though with only two small roast potatoes each, vegetable portions also 'economical' rather than generous helpings, and with a not insignificant amount of fat on the beef, perhaps all of this was not in keeping with an above average price. The sea bream however was excellent and good value. We were quite disappointed though with the service as the food took well over an hour to arrive ( despite the pub being busy, this is exceptionally long, especially given no forewarning). After all, roast beef and lamb with trimmings is hardly a complicated meal and fish does not take anywhere near an hour to prepare despite the restaurant being busy. Table service was friendly and competent enough, though, as mentioned, more could have been done for us regarding the delay. Given this long delay for example, we would have expected some complimentary bread as our children were rapidly losing patience and getting increasingly hungry. None was offered at any stage. One other major gripe, given this excessively long delay, was the automatic levying of a hefty service charge onto our final bill. Given the very long wait for our food I think this could have been waived in this instance (instead of adding it automatically to our bill (thus making it very awkward for a customer to ask for it to be removed/paid separately)). (I didn't raise this issue when paying, for this...

Wow! We have just returned from Sunday lunch here. Having emailed beforehand to let them know I am vulnerable to Covid they were extremely helpful with a table outside or a covered area that was secluded and separate to other guests if it rained. They were also extremely helpful with regards my being gluten and dairy free. We came with our dog and 10 year old daughter. The staff were incredibly helpful and personable but most importantly the food was AMAZING! The salt and pepper chicken wings are so delicious (however many you order I guarantee it won't be enough). My husband and I had roast beef which melted in the mouth, the best roast beef I have eaten out, ever. My daughter had the roast pork, I can't tell you what this was like as she wouldn't share it, which I assume meant it was delicious!!! It certainly looked good. The sorbets were delicious and my husband had Sticky toffee pudding which frankly didn't stay in the bowl long enough for me to ask if it was nice, lol. Is this the cheapest place to have Sunday roast? I would hazard a guess that it isn't. But its certainly worth it. I rarely write reviews but we so enjoyed it I felt it important to do so, I just wish we lived nearer. (NB there are resident cats and lots of guests bring dogs to the garden, they are very...

Lovely secluded old pub deep in the Cotswolds in the village of Chedworth. Three draft ales on when I visited including Otter ale. Didn't eat but the menu looked appetising and reasonable. It's on their web site. Friendly staff and three ghosts allegedly. An interesting building with plenty of heritage, and history given it is opposite the village church. Nice garden and seating area partially occupied by a marquee given the times we live in. An essential stopping off point on the circular walk 4 miles? which takes in the Chedworth Roman mosaics, the Midland and South West junction railway remains including tunnel portal and a former airfield. ( The section from Chedworth to the airfield is muddy all year so pub first!). Friendly if not rather nosey cat, who wants to know who's in his garden.

Wonderful late lunch at The Seven Tuns. Very good service and lovely food all round. Definitely one to visit again probably for a Sunday roast as the food on a Saturday was very enjoyable. Nice outside area and a lovely pub to park up and have a wander around the pretty village of Chedworth to work up an appetite. Update - stopped in for lunch after a lovely circular walk out to the Roman Villa and into the village. Beautiful area, beautiful pub and arguably one of the best pies in the entire history of humanity and that’s understating it. All made on the promises and jam-packed full of delicious venison.

Amazing gastro pub in a beautiful setting. Really great food! Great service. The building itself is very old and pretty, the views in the back garden are lovely, a real quaint Cotswold location, definitely worth a visit when your in the area. The menu is great we had stop ourselves ordering everything!! Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food.
