Was a nice spot to stop off at while walking the dogs. They are dog friendly pub so we're able to sit inside with the pups. Classic and clean pub atmosphere. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We had the curry swede and parsnip pie and the Crown burger. The burger looked and tasted like a homemade one, was an inch thick! Plenty of bacon on it too. The chips were done to perfection, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The pie had a lot of flavours going on and had a tasty crust, however the crust was too hard to even cut let alone eat in some parts. Made a perfect pitstop to our day out with the dogs.

Revisited since it has just re opened again.. Still a lovely pub, cider is now Stowford press which is fine. Popped into The Crown whilst out for a walk around the area. It is a pub with a great atmosphere and character. The cider was Orchard Cider and was refreshing. The fire was going and all the staff were friendly. Haven't eaten here yet, but when I do I'll update my review accordingly. As a country pub and a stop off on a walk, it is perfect.

Booked in for the first Sunday Lunch under the new management and wow the pub looks amazing! Modernised with lots of nice touches on the interior and the food was delicious! Thoroughly recommend the Roast Beef, great portion size, extra gravy and leeks and the chocolate tart with sorbet. Brilliant service from Katy and the team! We will be back! 💜

We booked this pub as we were staying locally for the weekend. We went on a Saturday evening. Although the food was good it was sadly somewhat spoilt by a hugely noisy group near us (not really anything the staff can do about that to be fair although somebody said the owner was amongst the group!) Also it was SO dark. It was candlelight only, no electric lights. Couldn’t see what we were eating at all. It wasn’t the best experience but I guess if you go in the day it would be different.

Did not appreciate being called ‘babe’ by a 20 odd year old waitress other. Totally unprofessional and patronising.

So to summarise, great food but I definitely wouldn’t go back...

Amazing Sunday roast!! This pub is a little gem! The staff are VERY friendly and the chef is excellent, with little twists on old favorites. Creamed leaks in a wee hot copper pot, extra to the veg that came with AND, don’t know about you, but I TOTALLY appreciate anywhere that gives you extra piping hot gravy without asking!!! Good vegan & veggie options too. I also love that the chef champions local produce - it’s important for so many reasons. I had no room for pudding but the choices sounded gorgeous. Would maybe like to see what the chef would do with a twist on a traditional crumble or fool. Highly recommend and will be my local from now on (fab...

We took a walk from from the Gateway Centre and stopped off at this pub on the way back. It was a really hot day, but the pub had no ice to put in drinks. We ordered a coke and rather than being served cold, it was poured luke-warm from an open bottle and was more than a little flat. We were then told the card machine didn't work and they only took cash, but not until after we'd placed our order and the drinks had all been poured! So we then had to scrabble about in pockets and bags to find for enough coins to pay the bill. Toilets were frankly quite grim and overall we didn't feel welcome or comfortable and couldn't...
