We booked this pub as we were staying locally for the weekend. We went on a Saturday evening. Although the food was good it was sadly somewhat spoilt by a hugely noisy group near us (not really anything the staff can do about that to be fair although somebody said the owner was amongst the group!) Also it was SO dark. It was candlelight only, no electric lights. Couldn’t see what we were eating at all. It wasn’t the best experience but I guess if you go in the day it would be different.
Did not appreciate being called ‘babe’ by a 20 odd year old waitress other. Totally unprofessional and patronising.

We were then told the card machine didn't work and they only took cash, but not until after we'd placed our order and the drinks had all been poured! So we then had to scrabble about in pockets and bags to find for enough coins to pay the bill. Toilets were frankly quite grim and overall we didn't feel welcome or comfortable and couldn't...
