Ordered takeaway online and was quoted 25 minutes to be ready. It was 45 minutes before I got it. Frankly, I think part of our order may have been forgotten because they kept asking me to confirm what I had ordered. I particularly didn't like being told all the time that it would be 'just one minute' or that 'it was being packed' when clearly, this was not true. I live just three minutes drive from the restaurant and the food was cold when I got home. This, together with the fact that the garlic nan bread (that had no taste of garlic at all) was totally flat, stretchy and very difficult to tear apart (we gave up and left it), enforces my opinion that something had been forgotten and the rest had been standing around for some time. The vegetable Balti was a very bland plate of mostly onions and the kashmiri rice was dry and tasteless. Disappointing takeaway. As a Bovingdon resident, this is our local indian and one we have used on many occasions. We had a takeaway in Oct 2022 and it was well below their standards of the past. The prawn tikka was overcooked and rubbery. The chicken tikka was not much better. About the same as a supermarket ready meal. The lamb rogan was ok. Everyone wants their local restaurants to be excellent and successful so I write this review in the hope it spurs some improvement. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the prices are OK. Other indian options a little further distance away are more appealing based on this meal. Hopefully this was a one off...
