What has happened here??????, Change of all the staff, comfy seats gone, smaller drinks food/drink quality definitely down hill, 1st hot chocolate served cold - returned for a replacement, served the cakes before the breakfast, had to wait over 20 minutes for the breakfast, the sourdough toast was like concrete and nearly bent the knives cutting through the crust, dish 1 - both fried eggs on the avocado were bust, dish 2 the scrambled egg was cold and rubbery appeared to be made from dried egg powder and how do you get egg yolk on the toast and salmon from scrambled egg, that's a first or was it second hand toast from a wrong order????. The only nice part was the salmon. The lady that served us was pleasant and cheerful, despite her admission of stress, and was embarrassed when she saw what we'd left acknowledging "I didn't think it looked good when I gave it you, I'd have returned it, do you want me to give feedback" "will you come back? which was met with Yes please for the feedback, no for the food but may call in for some takeaway cakes, no offer of a refund £37 of which £25 a complete waste of money. IF THE FOOD IS THAT BAD WHEN BEING SERVED THEN WHY SERVE AT ALL!!!

I’ve been stopping off here for several years as and when I pass. Previously I have had occasion to email the company and compliment them on their excellent coffee. Sadly the last two visits have been very disappointing. A few weeks ago I had to wait after paying 10 minutes to get my take out coffee. Bear in mind there was no one else waiting and I was standing at the till awaiting the collection. No apologies for the wait, in fact the service was pretty dour. The coffee was also not a patch on what it used to be, quite bitter and not well made. As I had loads of time awaiting service I watched the overall operation which was badly organised with just one person going back and forth to the kitchen constantly- and no one on drinks duty. I’m always willing to give a place a second chance as everyone has an off day. So I visited again today. More or less exactly the same issues as last time. Two people in front of me and issue after issue. I waited 10 minutes and called it quits as only one person had been served in that time. Nicely designed building in keeping with the location, good interior design and space for customers to sit without being on top of others, great views out, very clear menus and a very friendly welcome. I had breakfast which was as if it had been cooked at home, other than somehow, it was much faster! The cafe was busy (9.30am to 11.30am on a Tuesday morning in May) which is another good sign. Plenty of outdoor seating and positioned to get the sun all day ... a bonus on chillier days. Lovely team (looked as if they were all the same family? Mum, daughter ... grand daughter... could be wrong) great service with a smile. Good location with parking and lots to watch if you're on your own ... or not talking to the person/people you're with!
