Bit of a mixed-bag this one. I stayed in the twin room for 2 nights. The room oddly looks as though it’s been lifted and deposited direct from a Premier Inn (but smaller). It’s dark due to the use of dark purple and dark wood on almost everything. The bathroom is fresh and contemporary though. There’s a generous selection of teas and coffee plus biscuits.||One of the reasons I chose the Fountains tearoom and B&B was because of the tearoom downstairs. I arrived, after a long tiring journey, at 3.30pm thinking I was just in time to grab a snack in the tearoom, however Iike a lot of visitors if you read the comments dating back years, I was told by a very offhand older member of staff the kitchen was closed. It closes at 3pm, so all the info and literature stating that tearoom hours are 9am to 4pm are misleading to say the least. (The owner later stated that ā€˜our staff have families to go home to’). ||When I asked I was also told that breakfast was from 9am, even though this staff member was now fully aware I was a guest, and I mentioned I needed to be somewhere by 10am the next morning. So the next morningI hung around to 9am and dashed down to breakfast to find other guests already eating breakfast, a (different) member of staff said guests were served from 8.30am!||I complained by text to the owner who responded very quickly saying she’d look into it. The owner could not be faulted for responding to queries/complaints - the evening before I’d rung her asking how the heating worked as it was cold and she came out straight away to check the thermostat in the hall.||The breakfast was prompt, hot and very tasty.||Other negative points: The mattress had springs starting to poke up, the pillows were thin and lumpy (they’re cheap enough to buy for goodness’ sake). The thinnish duvet (no sheets apart from the fitted one on the mattress) only just covered the bed, so wouldn’t be great for larger visitors.||I personally will not be...

The Tearooms and accommodation are in a good location and plenty of on -street parking. I checked in when the tearooms were open (closes 4pm) and met the very friendly staff and I was then shown to my bedroom. There is also a key safe and private entrance for those arriving after 4pm. ||The bedroom was nicely decorated and had twin beds, bedside tables, a wardrobe a desk/table and chair and wall mounted tv.||On the table there was a good supply of teas and coffee (including decaf) plus there was a lovely addition of a cafetiere and fresh ground coffee.||There was a step down into the generous sized ensuite bathroom. This had underfloor heating which was lovely underfoot.||This is a Bed & Breakfast establishment and you have your breakfast downstairs in the Tearooms.|I had a full english breakfast and a Latte. The breakfast was freshly cooked with good quality products and looked and tasted delightful.||All staff were very friendly and helpful. The tearooms had a great choice on their menu and a vast array of home-baked cakes, traybakes and scones.||i would highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast (plus Tearooms) and would definitely...

An excellent short stay in this B&B situated above a tea room in the village of Bonsall.Check-in is a small window of 2 hours between 2 and 4 pm but it does state that you can organise late check-in if you are stuck. Best to avoid the area around the Heights of Abraham when traveling in at the weekend as it gets very busy.We were there just to check out the area for walking and it suited our needs perfectly. The owner greeted us and made sure we settled in and as a bonus, the tea room was still open to allow us to sample their delicious cakes before unpacking. We went to the Kings Head pub for dinner which is a 3-minute walk up the hill and I must say it was a good choice. Another place with great hospitality with a mix of locals and visitors but more importantly good honest grub.Breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had at a B&B it was plentiful and there was no compromise on quality, perfect to fuel us for another day on the hills.Thank you for hosting us and giving us good value for money in an excellent location to explore the Peak District...

Great little cafe / bistro in the wonderful little village of Bonsall. Tables inside and seating outside. Menu has a good choice of traditional dishes such as jacket spuds and paninis. Opted for the bacon, brie and cranberry and it was very nice. I was very impressed with the selection of teas available with many exotic flavours. Tried the ginger and rhubarb which was different and could have had a few others. Ice cream followed for dessert then a quick look in the quirky village store behind the cafe. Well worth a visit. Certainly not over priced at £43 for 4 meals and drinks plus two ice creams. I noticed a log burner which must be nice to sit next to on after a long winter walk with a hot chocolate.

Very welcoming stay here. Bed is a little on the firm side and there is a big step into the bathroom and into the room, so be mindful of this. Lovely shower and bath if you prefer. Breakfast the next morning was lovely and the girls couldn't do enough to accommodate my dietary requirements (lactose intolerant). We bought some flapjack and chocolate cake home for the teenagers. Highly recommend for the money.

Visited as part of a walk in the Peak District with group of friends. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Ordered jacket potato with tuna and pot of tea. Really tasty and good quality. Clean toilets. Seating indoors and outside. Recommend getting cakes for take out. Lemon drizzle cake was excellent. Will definitely return.
