The Bakehouse — Restaurant in Derbyshire Dales

Visited in October 2021 and gave it a 5* however see update now a 3*...

This Bakery is certainly a GREAT reason to visit the lovely working village of Bradwell, Derbyshire.

Forget Greggs, Pret A Manger or any other bakery for that matter... This is SIMPLY THE BEST bakery we have ever had the pleasure of coming across..

So where to start.. the staff were extremely friendly and happy to provide information about places to visit.

The food.. the food was utterly amazing.. mouthwatering, delectable, scrumptious, marvelous and certainly tantalised our taste buds on each & every visit.. super hot and fresh.

The only downside, there was too much choice and not enough time to try everything...

Some of our favourites.. the Sausage & Black Pudding Pastry Turnover.. Their Bacon.. ooh their Bacon roll... yum yum.. add Black Pudding and Mushrooms too. Their Pork Pies.. Their Lemon cake..

You do not need to travel to Cornwall, to have an incredible Cornish Pasty.. having been to Cornwall.. we can honestly say this was amazing and just as good, better even..

Also... their Bakewell was far better than any Bakewell we tried in, funnily enough Bakewell..

Utterly scrummy, freshly made & totally tasty by lovely people.. truly worthy of a visit or two.. We had to return in our second week of our holiday whilst at another location.. trust us, the drive was certainly worth...

Whether you are working locally or walking the beautiful countryside, the place to get re-nourished and revitalised with wonderful refreshments is The Bakehouse at Bradwell. If it's a breakfast bap, freshly baked pie or pizza, to mention just a few of the food options on offer, including vegetarian, this is the place to go, and the staff are very friendly...

Called last week when in Bradwell we had been before and remembered how good value the cobs were so we only bought one between us. They cut the cob in half and wrapped each in separate foil. It was roast pork stuffing apple sauce. They were so tasty and very filling with a pkt of crisps. Excellent value. Will call next time in...
