Retured to the venue as part of an event organised by the UK S2000 Owners Club in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
The pub opened early for our cohort and put on a very good bacon butty with drink for a reasonable fee.
We went off on our event and returned around 1600 for a late lunch.
The food timing, quality, and Price were spot on as was the service.
Often difficult to find a pub willing to do something outside of the ordinary but this place went above and beyond, it was truly appreciated.
We'll definitely be back again, and again, as we cannot fault anything.

Dropped in for a lunchtime meal with friends and we should've booked ahead! Every table was reserved but we were fortunate that we could hop on one before the reservation time came around.
BOOK AHEAD PEOPLE!
In addition to the main menu there was a smaller Burn's Night menu and boy is that something special; the photographs are of the battered burger and it wasn't just a battered burger! It was a lightly coated herbed batter which was everything I wanted and more.
Served in a brioche bun with only brown sauce. Perhaps not to everyone's taste but it was perfect for me.
The chips it came with were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, also perfectly done.
On the table we also had haggis loaded fries (loved), a gammon chop (amazing), and a fish goujon sandwich (so tasty).
None of us could fault a thing, the staff were...
Read moreNipped here for lunch after a walk at Thorpe Cloud with friends. Being Coeliac and this being a small country pub, I wasn't expecting anything that would be gluten free at all and prepared for my usual salted pack of crisps. How wrong I was!! The menu had plenty of options that were either gluten free or could be adaptable to gluten so I was spoilt for choice. We sat outside in the lovely seating area, which has both open and undercover areas (again a great idea, especially with the British weather) it was a beautiful day after all, so I can't comment on the atmosphere. We ordered food and drinks at the bar inside. The pub itself is gorgeous and very well decorated. It has a nice homely feel and I imagine in winter that it's really cosy. The staff were helpful and friendly and the service was quick. The food when it came was really good. I had a chicken and baconmaise sandwich and it went down a treat with a latte. They even had decent GF bread, which always makes a big difference to us GF bods!! Overall, really lovely place to visit. My friends advised that it does get busy at weekends and school holidays so best to get there early for lunch at 12 onwards. Oh and dogs are welcome too, both outside and inside (on a lead of course) A fabulous place that I'll definitely be going back to on my next visit to...
Read moreWe came in for Sunday lunch ,midway our trail walk ,the place was very busy ,we had not bookeda table ,but we were lucky to be accommodated ,as long as we did not ,over stay ,as the table was reserved . Our waitress ,which we did not quite catch her name (Dark hair with a scarf on)was very friendly & welcoming & lovely. She fetched a jug of iced water for our table & took our drinks order ,even asking if our dog would like some water ?(Dogs are very welcome here)she took us through the menu ,we opted for the roast beef. A lovely young boy brought out our meals to us ,we were amazed by how amazing our beef was & plenty of it ,just the right pink . Our waitress came over to ask how our meals were ,which we were very happy with & what lovely beef it was ,she mentioned that the meat was all local produce ,they support local farmers . We mentioned how generous they were about the plate size, which the waitress said their Chef Tony always plated up a good roast .(Thankyou Tony).after our plates were cleared ,the waitress offered us the dessert menu ,which all looked tempting, but we were just full up & still had the rest of the Trail walk to do . All in all the food was wonderful ,as was our waitress .Highly recommended this place is ,but vital to...
