Thorpe Cloud View Holiday Cottage — Local services in Derbyshire Dales

We stayed here for 3 nights in Aug 2022 and again in Aug 2024 for another 3 nights.

It's a lovely cottage, well equipped and feels very special. If you aren't relaxing in front of the log burner, you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views, or hike in some of the most amazing countryside right from the doorstep! Thorpe Cloud is clearly visible from the patio and as it's only minutes walk away, you can wait until everyone leaves to bag a solitary sunset view (see pics) If you want to go further it's a lovely hike to Dovedale, Milldale, Ilam & Wetton to name a few.

My wife and son aren't hikers like me, but love spending time using the indoor private pool and jacuzzi..... they spend a lot of time in there as both are fantastic!! There is plenty of private parking right next to the cottage too, which is great.

The owners, Ray & Julie are VERY friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return!!

A beautiful cottage surrounded by breath taking views and great walks right at your doorstep. The hosts were friendly and made us feel welcome. The cottage was beautiful inside and out, very clean, cosy and private. It had everything we needed and included a lovely wood burning stove. Not many places come with a private pool and jacuzzi, these facilities were amazing. It was exactly what we were looking for and a much needed break, I can't wait...

just got back from another stay in this wonderfull cottage,woke up on sunday to a rather large helping of snow,it was my first time in this area in the snow,it looked fantastic.we walked to milldale and back and really enjoyed our adventure in the white stuff....especially when we got back to the cottage,to our nice warm log burner....logs all supplied..again our stay here proved to be fantastic and again i cannot...
