Got told to move our motorbikes off the footpath outside the pub from someone that works in the tearooms because β€œthe locals don’t like it” we did move our bikes straight away and apologised, I didn’t see a single person use the footpath everyone walked on the road/lay-by including the very same person that told me us to move them, that’s because the footpath doesn’t look like a footpath, it has 4 or more benches and bins on it, and if anyone is sitting on the benches and there legs are sticking out people have to walk on the road/ lay-by because it isn’t wide enough, so tell whoever owns the benches to move them off the public footpath, and tell pedestrians and staff to use the path and not to walk down the middle of the road, or don’t and concentrate on doing your job and leave the rest to a parking warden or police.

Other than that the food and drink was nice, although when my name got shouted out they just left my food on a table that a family was sitting at and I had to go and interrupt them to fetch it.

I...

Well after a 4 mile walk in Upper Haddon we were going to Bakewell for a well deserved tea and cake however after driving back Bakewell was extremely busy and it was nice to see face masks being worn the 2m social distancing was difficult as the market was on so after chatting to someone in the car park they recommend this Tea Room As you turn down towards The Old Smithy parking was on the left which is free but you can donate there is also parking Long the road

Plenty of seating indoors and outside

Dogs welcome inside

We had full cooked breakfast with an oak cake which was a first for me and was ok i don't know what I was expecting but was nice

You could replace an item for an item so I replaced my tomatoes for some black pudding

I also had a chocolate milkshake and the other half an an Americano which for him was quite strong at one shot with extra water

Overall recommend, clean, covid guidance followed names and numbers recorded

We visited on a Friday lunchtime and there were plenty of bikers outside enjoying a drink and bite to eat but there was plenty of room to sit inside. There was a great menu choice with paninis, filled oatcakes, burgers, breakfast foods and a fantastic selection of local ice-cream and homemade cakes which looked AMAZING. Even though it was very busy outside we were served quickly and our food arrived in hardly no time at all. We had a full breakfast each, one of them being vegetarian, where, instead of the bacon and sausage there was a delicious cheese-filled oatcake (along with fried egg on toast, beans. mushroom and cooked tomatoes). The tea was hot and the vanilla milkshake was lovely. We got the apple pie and lemon curd cake to take away as they looked delicious! The lady who served us couldn't do enough for us and was extremely helpful and polite. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today (13/09/2024) and will certainly be...

A really great little Cafe πŸ‘ We called here for Breakfast a few times whilst Camping in the nearby Haddon Grove Farm. The cafe serves very good Breakfasts 😎 great ingredients and well cooked. The full English is a good size and has some nice touches, like the Fried Egg arriving on a nice thick price of Toast, or the Mushrooms on a kind of Potato Cake?? Really nice 😎 It has quite a few tables/seats inside as well as number outside too. It seems to be quite a popular place, but even when busy, it still seems to get the food out without a y long delays πŸ‘πŸ‘. The price for the food is pretty reasonable for the quality/volume you received. Well worth a visit if you're close by πŸ‘

Busy location this Sunday morning but managed to get seated inside. Friendly and fast service in this dog friendly establishment. Ordered a couple of English breakfasts. Decent quality ingredients apart from the mushrooms. The sausage was undercooked on one side, oatcake soggy and undercooked, some of the bacon fat was very undercooked. Decent coffee. The menu was disgusting and covered in spider poo. The worst part was the constant flow of people passing our table to and from the toilet, and the foul mouthed group of elderly men in the corner who managed to clear a young family from their table leaving some of their breakfast behind.
