Updated 19/08/2025: Today's visit finds this place has gone from being a great place to enjoy a meal and conversation with soft atmospheric background music, to playing extremely loud high energy music. Had to shout at my co-diner to be understood. The other result is that everyone else in the restaurant is doing the same, so the noise level becomes unbearable. Sadly, won't be returning unless i get a reassurance that the atmosphere changes back to atmospheric background music rather than feeling like being in the middle of a rough bar.
Original review: Our first visit to this wonderful restaurant. Firstly the hospitality of everyone here is totally refreshing, with every single staff member being genuinely appreciative of our custom. It was like walking in to be greeted and treated like we were old family and friends.
The atmosphere and the surroundings is also very welcome, subtle and very comfortable. When you walk in here, you know you are going to have a special experience.
We so enjoyed every single dish that was presented to us. Such high quality of fresh and very tasty food. The prawns for starters were recommended to us by another diner, and they were delicious. We each had a lamb Biryani, which was delicious, and plentiful.
The naan breads are large and juicy with plenty of garlic.
Everywhere in the restaurant was so fresh and clean. The hot fresh towels were a very welcome surprise, which demonstrated the care and attention to detail.
I felt that a menu of Mocktails might be a nice addition to the drinks menu.
Will definately be visiting...
Read moreAmazing food: delicious, large portion sizes and wonderful quality. The menu also has a really great range, so you can try something different every time you go. Even the "Early Bird" menu has a huge variety of starters and main courses, so you feel like you have an opportunity to try something new even if you're on a tight budget. This time we had the pickles and poppadoms, which were delicious (and we loved that the tray had info on each of the pickles so you could work out which was your favourite!), then for a starter my wife had chicken liver tikka, which was a huge portion of tender chicken livers with just the right spicing. I had paneer pakora, because you can't go wrong with fried cheese (!), and the batter had a lovely gentle hit of spice. Perfectly cooked as well. We both had a lamb and spinach dish for the main course and it was delicious, with lamb that was so tender. The Manager (Jamal) came to talk to us about the spinach that was being used in the dish and explained that they were now using only fresh spinach. It certainly added to the lovely clean flavour, with no metallic aftertaste that you can sometimes get with tinned spinach. The naan bread is wonderful as well. If you can't finish the generous portions of food, you are encouraged to take it home with you, and we had another good meal from our "leftovers" the following day, so it's fantastic value....
