Firstly we couldn’t get a car parking space. The premises were so over booked that patrons were arguing and jostling for spaces in the car parking space as we arrived We were shown immediately to the dining table with no option to sit and have a pre dinner drink. We were given menus immediately upon seating and no one came to ask us if we would like a drink for 15-20mins after! Our order for food was finally taken over 45 mins after arrival but it was well in excess of an hour before any food arrived. The staff were so busy that it was a good while before clearing starter plates and taking the main course order Eventually when we did order the mains, they took another 30 mins before arriving The food wasn’t great either. My wife ordered king prawn salad which basically looked like a packet of king prawns had been emptied on top of a basic bag of salad. There was no dressing or sauce. Pathetic frankly. My daughter ordered a fillet steak meal at £35.95and it was no more than 5 or 6 ounces. It was okay but again not worth even half of that amount. 2 of us had bourbon chicken. Grilled half a chicken which was nice but not spectacular by any means and the bourbon sauce was about a tablespoon full. The final guest was my father in law who had loin of cod but again he felt we have had a far better example of cod loin down the road at the Eagle and Child for a lot less money. It was my father in law’s 82nd birthday and so we didn’t wish to make a scene. However we did hear at least 2 other complainants on adjacent tables regarding the extremely poor service and long waits.
My father in law was not made to feel special in any way. Our waitress did ask if we were celebrating anything special and we told her yes and explained it was his birthday. She gave pleasantries but nothing else mentioned and no special offers or complimentaries were put forward. All in all yesterday was an awful afternoon in terms of venue choice, service, food and not least price. We don’t feel that we would even end to anyone or ever wish to return ourselves.
Our final bill was £235 for the...

Terrible customer service! I booked online for a party of 20 on a Friday evening to celebrate my son's 16th birthday. I received a confirmation email for the booking, stating that they would call me to confirm details.
After receiving no call, I decided to pop in while passing by just to ensure everything was in order, only to be informed that they had no record of my booking. They mentioned they would accept such a large booking. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the experience, and then the deputy manager approached me aggressively, claiming they don't take bookings that large. She checked and discovered there had been an IT error, which had canceled my booking. The system failed to notify me via email or phone call, as was initially suggested in my first confirmation email.
I reiterated that the experience I was receiving was quite poor. Astonishingly, the deputy manager insisted it was not their fault, as they relied on an external company for the system's management. I tried to clarify that it certainly wasn't my fault, yet I was bearing the brunt of their flawed system, inadequate customer service, and failure to communicate with customers.
I was taken aback when the deputy manager asked me to stop shouting at her, despite my voice not being raised. Granted, my tone was likely slightly annoyed, but her unreasonable and aggressive demeanor was unwarranted. I felt as though I had made an unreasonable request by trying to book a large party on a Friday. It seemed like she was gaslighting me, implying I was the aggressive one in the situation. Just wow.
I requested to speak with the general manager, who was extremely professional, calm, and polite. He offered to call me the following day to see if they could accommodate us, but unfortunately, they couldn't.
Myself, my partner and children are frequent customers and wont be returning………. To uty manager, you have 7 less customers, so more time to put effort into speaking to other customers like...
Read moreWent on a Saturday early evening 6:30pm. Greeted politely butwe were 5 mins early our table was not quite ready. We were given a device to alert us. We went to the bar for a drink. The bar area is very small so we had to stand. Luckily not for long. The table we were allocated was in a very busy & noisy area. Servers and customers were passing by us sooo often which was a little annoying. Also the flood light from the car park was blaring through the window so I had to switch seats. Our server Paige is such a lovely young lady. Very polite and communicated with us (all) really well. She made the ‘not so great’ start much much better. She explained the menu very well and asked about allergies etc. she was attentive throughout checking the food was to our liking & if we needed more drinks. I had the surf n turf fillet medium rare. It was delicious although a little on the cold side I do prefer food Hot the lobster tail was also only tepid in temperature. I guess with steaks they do let it rest but I’d expect the lobster to be hot (at least). My son had the rump (medium rare) and he said it was really lovely & the right temperature; my husband the T-bone; again not hot (just warm) but was cooked as we’d asked for and was very tasty. Disappointed they no longer offer the ranch with croutons dressing. Decided to opt for bacon & mustard and it was not to my liking very sour n spicy. The Cabernet Sauvignon red wine is sooo good I had an extra glass. The crème brûlée is to die for defo recommend that! Last but not least the car park is a little small - we ended up being blocked in so my husband had to take the cars reg number and go back inside to ask staff to find the car owner to come out and shift it! Overall despite the few annoyances we experienced we dud...
