The Bulrush Bistro — Restaurant in Doncaster

We have been to the bistro on a number of occasions & always had excellent food & an excellent experience, unfortunately today that was not the case. Food was a total dissapointment, it didn't even look appetising. A lot smaller portions from other times & not as well cooked. Both of us had the cooked breakfast & we've always thoroughly enjoyed it but we were both dissapointed today. I understand that things are difficult at the present time with the cost of living crisis but we would have preferred to pay more for the usual standard of good quality food. Anemic looking sausages, one have of a tomato, 2 mushrooms, cold fried eggs & undercooked black pudding does not make a decent breakfast. Unfortunately we will be going elsewhere for our food unless your standards greatly improve to how it used to be. You have lost our custom & we certainly wouldn't recommend you any more to our friends & family I would like to say that the young girl serving the drinks was friendly & welcoming so the bad food doesn't...

I visited The Bulrush Bistro 5 Ludwell Hill, Doncaster DN5 7EE.

My Cousin had an event there recently and I just saw the photos and I thought I would test the cafe out.

The first time I visited.

I had a roasted vegetable wrap.

My Step Mum had bacon & brie ciabatta.

My Nanan and Grandad had Chicken Tikka Masala and Steak and Ale Pie with hand cooked chips.

Nice and peaceful surroundings.

I'm definitely going to go back there again.

Sunday lunch was phenomenal!! The only tiny criticism, and would hardly call it that, the vegetables were less than 'Al dente' could have done with another 5 mins..but!!
