Went for a meal with family for my gran’s 75th and my auntie and uncle’s 18th wedding anniversary. It was quite hot. We all had the carvary and it was really nice. Apparently the beef was chewy, but the turkey was lovely. My gran was trying to find more crispy roast potatoes and a lovely woman brought some that were a little crispier out specially for her. I also don’t eat a lot of veg and my mum had made a comment whilst she was getting her own carvary and whilst I was helping my gran get hers. She was telling me to ask the man for more meat/an extra Yorkshire and I basically shushed her because I felt quite embarrassed. I sat down gran for her food and then queued again to get mine and when I got to the front, the man had remembered my mum’s quiet comment to me and gave me a little extra meat and an extra Yorkshire without me even having to ask. I really really appreciated that as I don’t eat any veg apart from potatoes and it was our first time going so we were a little disheartened to find out there isn’t any other menu food on a Sunday. All of the food was really lovely and the waitresses were very kind and patient despite the heat and it being fairly busy. We had also phoned and booked the day of and asked to be seated near to the toilets for disability access for my mum and gran and were seated perfectly upon getting there. The lemonade was also really nice and fresh! We didn’t order desserts. Thank you for a lovely meal out!

I took my nan here for a birthday lunch. I liked the pub, it's quite a traditional style with plenty of parking outside which was handy. It has a good selection of food on the menu which makes it so hard to choose because it all sounds so great. It is really well priced as well. I must admit, we did wait an awfully long time for the food to come out. I think it was close to an hour before it eventually came out. However, the food was delicious. It also was an absolutely huge portion that I couldn't finish. To be honest, I don't think any of us managed to clear our plates. Unfortunately, my nan had a fall on the way out. I don't think it was the fault of the pub though, there wasn't anything for her to fall over. The staff were truly amazing, and tried their best to help that made a huge difference. My only criticism is that there are a few raised bits that my nan struggled to get her walker over, and where we were sat was really far from the disabled toilets. But I don't think that can be helped. Embarrassingly, in the heat of the moment with my nan falling, we all completely forgot to leave a tip! So we will definitely be back, and will definitely be tipping the great service.

Lovely old place. We came here for the Sunday carvery. It was pretty popular at 1:30pm when we got there (it was much quieter at 2pm). You pay for the carvery at the bar and pay for your drinks at the same time. You then queue up. You get a choice of tukey, chicken, gammon pork or beef. They put it on your plate. We wre also asked if we wanted a yorkshire pud or not. There's plenty of vegetable and potato choice which you can pile on your own plate. There is apparently free wifi but the password is nowhere to be seen. Staff were very friendly and courteous. We loved the hanging flower baskets out side the pub. Very good.

When we arrived the woman serving behind the bar (who was also the waitress) was telling customers that she had cystitis and should be drinking lots of water, but she couldn’t as she was scared to “go for a wee” because it hurt her. I found this to be unprofessional particularly as she was also the waitress and was serving food. When she took our order my son ordered the steak pie and I ordered the Vegetable pasta bake. I asked for no cheese. She asked how I could eat it with no cheese as this “made the dish” . Our meals arrived. My son commented that his was OK but nothing special and should have had the choice of shortcrust or puff pastry. My Pasta Bake was inedible. Although there were plenty of fresh vegetables there was not much pasta and there was far too much strong tomatoes sauce and was quite sickly and overpowered the taste of the vegetables. The Waitress did not return to ask if our meals were OK and I had to call her over. When I explained the problem, she began to question me saying “I can see lots of vegetables” I did not doubt this, it was the amount of tomatoes in the sauce that made the dish awful. I had to tell her to stop questioning and arguing with me which was not appropriate. She eventually said “Ill take it back to the Chef. When she returned, she again began to try to justify that the sauce was made form Provincial vegetables which was why the sauce was strong. I explained this is not stated on the menu just that it is a Vegetable Past Bake, again she tried to argue with me and then said that the chef would either make me another with less sauce or I could pick something else from the menu. My son had finished his meal and I did not want to risk having more food that I could not eat and to have to eat alone. I suggested that this be taken off the bill. The waitress (who we later discovered was called Adele) brought our bill and almost threw it on the table. She was very rude and when my son went to pay the bill, she refused to acknowledge him. I found the whole experience upsetting and Adele’s attitude extremely rude, ignorant and...

I booked a table last week for my family to celebrate my Dad's birthday, and unfortunately I wish I had booked somewhere different.

We queued to get into the pub, once we were next in line I explained to the bar staff that we were waiting to be seated at a table we had booked; they told us to sit on the table next to the door as we were blocking the way for people who just wanted the bar.

The table was booked for quarter past 6 in the evening, we were probably seated by half 6. The staff member who seated us took our drinks order, and explained that there was no drinks menu when I asked for one.

The restaurant was busy, perhaps too busy, and when we asked if we could order food we were told that they were taking people's orders in turn. Some time passed and we were asked what food we'd like to order, I also asked for a jug of water for the table at the same time, this was at perhaps 10 to 7.

We did not receive our jug of water until around 8pm, it was impossible to get a drink at the bar as the queue was far too long, a table next to us gave up and left before their food arrived.

Our food arrived at around 20 to 9, my mother has type 2 diabetes which was why I booked the table earlier as she needs to eat within a reasonable time to what her body is used to; she ordered scampi and said that it was under-cooked.

I will not be recommending this place to anybody, and will unlikely return...
