—racist member of staff—
Following on from a review left earlier by another member of my party. Approximately 8 o’clock on a Saturday night. Our evening abruptly came to a rude standstill after entering the chance inn. A short bald headed guy with glasses looked disgusted when we asked if food was still being served and instantly got offensive, accusing me of disrespectful behaviour and a bad attitude. I’m a man of an ethnic minority in the uk, I don’t like to use the word racism much as it’s a very loaded word. But this short fella, I cannot think of any other reasoning for his unacceptable behaviour. It wasn’t even worth a rebuttal at the time. I do not want to give my money to people of that nature, even surrounding guests who had already been served looked shocked by the short guys behaviour. It wasn’t worth a debate with me, I know over time people of this nature end up ruining themselves in the long run. Shame because I had been served by a lovely young women in there multiple times in the past and even went out of my way to leave a nice tip as they couldn’t have done more for our hospitality at the time. Shame a minority have to permanently tarnish a lovely pub with lovely food and usually lovely members of staff.
Won’t be back
I hope the other lovely members of staff who have previously served me in the past move on to an establishment more...
Read moreStaff were friendly and attentive but that’s the only good thing I can say unfortunately. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but then I don’t like paying for bad food. The menu states everything is homemade and locally sourced. The only place the food is locally sourced from is Tesco freezer section. Burgers were frozen junk, mushy texture no flavour. Kids didn’t even eat their nuggets, I know nuggets aren’t the best but these were like foam pulp. Atmosphere was like a weather spoons with no music and very quiet. The actual eating area was dingy and worn out, mix match of furniture just looked like the grab what ever was laying around. I knew I was in for a rough meal as soon as the tescos own brand sauces come to the table. I wouldn’t be...
Read moreAfter a very busy day at work we decided we needed a tea time treat . We popped into The Chance Inn , a delightful ,local village pub. The staff are fantastic , friendly and welcoming. Honestly , if you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a meal , then pop along to the Chance Inn , tucked away in Guston Village , near Dover Castle. Hubby and 2 sons all chose to have the Ultimate beef burger , and I opted for the chicken burger. The sight of the dishes as they were placed before us was phenomenal. The burgers were stacked do high with salad and onion rings , and the chips were superb. Somehow we managed to eat these humongous , delicious 😋 meals and then made our way home ... The dessert menu will have to wait for...
