The food and staff were lovely. The reason for my low rating was the fact I felt so ripped off when it came to the price. My family ordered from the 3 course for £20. The price was on top. I never noticed any other price. The waitress then asked would we like garlic butter with our steaks which we agreed as thought it was a free condiment. The steaks were only 6oz. When the bill arrived my family nearly had a heart attack as it was almost £100.

I queried it and was shown the menu were it was written by the side of the steak and extra £6.50. Not even a £ sign just numbers so it didnt even stand out to me or my family. Id never have paid all that extra and would have just ordered off the main menu. We did have 2 cokes and 1 potion of onions rings too. What should have been around £75 turned out to be about £20 more expensive because certain hidden extras were bot made clear when ordering. I cant believe the butter that we thought was free was £5 ontop too. Im glad I only ordered water.

We are a family on a budget holiday and fancied a lunch time me out. Ive been diagnosed with ADHD and was so upset leaving the put because I felt like what should have been lovely expensive turned out the complete opposite.

We did pass all this on the the waitress. She was lovely but I felt I needed to do this review so others didnt fall into the same trap as my...

Been here twice now, once with the kids after a bike ride at betteshanger, we passed the coach and horses on our way there and said oh that looks nice we'll try it on the way home, so glad we did, we all loved the food and the kids had great fun playing on the bouncy castle and swings in the garden with the other kids. We had a table right by the bouncy castle and in good view of the swing set so it was easy to relax and supervise them. We went again today, adults only, for a Sunday lunch for two. I had the roast beef both times we've been and polished it off my partner had the Mexican burger and also cleaned her plate. You can have a regular or large roast but the regular roast is still generous. Loads of beef and gravy, lovely crispy potatoes, nice big Yorkshire puds and a separate bowl of perfectly cooked fresh veg. Little pots of horseradish are cute! The food is great quality and value for money. Really family friendly place but not overrun with kids screaming and running in and out of tables, I'd imagine the staff would tactfully and appropriately deal with anyone disrespecting the other diners right to a pleasant experience so it's still great for a grown up meal. The garden is beautiful with a lovely atmosphere. They also have board games and things to do. Very well kept and well run with lovely staff. It's our new favourite...

Had a pre Christmas meal with friends 9th of December. On entering the prebooked table was ready but next to a radiator squished in a corner. We asked to move and this was done quickly. We had pre-ordered our meals so expected a quick and efficient service. This I'm afraid wasn't the case. It took a while for our starters to come out but we're OK when they arrived. Then it took a while for the main course to follow and we were told it was because a large group of people had come in but we observed another table of 4 like us but had arrived after us get their main course before us and then we asked for the desert to come out straight away and this took another 40 minutes. One of the dishes was a traditional Christmas pudding with a brandy sauce that was like water and not very appetising at all. The noise was generally too much and the place is in desperate need of some noise reducing panels as we couldn't here ourselves think. Over all a disappointing experience but hope the management can address issues such as the noise and service as I wish them luck. On a side note the large group of lads who were there either had really weak bladders or a need to wash their hands every 20 minutes or so in the toilets. I would hazard a guess that some other use was found for...

Food quality and portion size was good, place was beautifully decorated but quite clinical where there was no soft furnishings like curtains, it made your voice echo slightly. We spontaneously went on a Tuesday which was steak night (we wasn’t aware of that), second steak was free which was a bonus! Great value for money. There seemed to be a lack of energy from the staff, although there was a quite few customers in there was still a lot of waiting staff for the covers but yet the service for taking orders, clearing and puddings/bill was very slow, I wouldn’t normally mention it but I could see other people waiting for service also I think some training would be very beneficial for the clearly very new to the industry staff. A quick fix that will pay off in the long run. Adding auto service may incentivise the staff more. I would also suggest a sign to the toilets from the opposite end, multiple people headed to the garden direction before asking where they were👍 I wish this place a great success and will be returning soon!

I didn't feel like the food was well thought out, and as a large group where several ordered the roast, we were given the veggies to share amongst us. The idea that you pay for your own dish and to them share the small portions appears to be an attempt to cut corners and grab the money. I also felt that as a vegetarian the options to accommodate were unsatisfactory. Three items two of which didn't fill my desire, leaving only the roast. Other restaurants that charge less per person have vegetarian options to their dishes so this experience certainly did not please. For that alone I won't be returning. Whilst the staff did accommodate our requests, the facilities to assist in baby care left a lot to be desired. Paid quite a large amount for the drinks also, which did not go down well at all, and at nearly £5 for a large water I left it as that.

Wow! This place was just fantastic. I drive past The Coach daily and have never ventured in. Last night, I went with my husband and some friends. The atmosphere was lovely and cosy. They have both restaurant and drinking areas for when you just want to have a drink. The menu was excellent, and there were lots of gluten-free options available. The food was presented well and was delicious. The staff were very friendly and very attentive. They had a good range of beers, spirits, and wines and were happy to put everything on a tab to pay at the end of the evening. We had 3 courses plus drinks and per person, averaged at £45 a head, so not too pricey either. Definitely somewhere I will be returning to. Just one point to remember, they are a cashless venue and only accept card transactions, which these days shouldn't be a problem.
