Visited 22 June 2025 for a Sunday lunch. Good variety of beers including keg IPA’s. Nice reasonably priced Merlot as well. It has clearly been refurbished in recent years. Especially in the restaurant part where we were seated the furniture could have been a bit more comfortable, although there were cushions etc , as benches and tables were fixed it wasn’t that easy to make yourself comfortable, also had some strange metal conduit fitted across the back of one seat which didn’t help! However the food was excellent, the beef cooked rare but plenty of it with Yorkshire pudding, cheesy broccoli and cauliflower cheese, crunchy roast potatoes and peas/gravy - there was lots to eat and it was really tasty! We had the pork bao buns for starters and the cheeseboard to finish and it was reasonably priced considering the excellent standard of food. Service was efficient and the young staff friendly. The garden area is well supplied with all manner of different seating options from covered cabins to chairs and tables, with a nice play area with climbing equipment for kids in a safe fenced off area. Unless local you need sat nav to find the place but it is well worth when you do and will certainly be back again. Could do with some signage to the toilets which wasn’t that obvious and unfortunately what should have been the accessible loo is only available up a couple of steps so not exactly wheelchair friendly!

We stayed Saturday night in Foxglove lodge. It was ok to be fair. You can only book through Booking.com & we thought we had the bed & breakfast deal for £90.00 per night but we were misled a bit. No breakfast was included & if we realised we wouldn't have booked at all. The lodge was adequate. A few bugs up in the eaves. The outside security light shone through our front door glass and bathed our room in light all night. The wedding guests woke us up around midnight heading to bed. Bed was comfy & linen was clean. Shower ran hot & cold. Pub itself was cosy & we had a meal which was pretty basic. I had ribs, fries & slaw. My wife had the fish pie. £20.00 & £18.00 respectively. See photos. Make your own mind up. Staff were helpful but the whole breakfast debacle left us feeling a bit flat. Wouldn't come back as I only book rooms with complimentary breakfast. Was hoping to come back with the grandchildren & stay here as a base for Betteshanger Park. Won't use Booking.com again for anything. Try it here though, you may like it?

A Real Diamond in the Garden of England My fiancée and I booked a last-minute stay at The Crown as a spontaneous getaway, and we could not have been happier with our experience. The rooms were bright, spacious, and welcoming, creating an immediate sense of relaxation. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring we enjoyed a restful night's sleep. The dining experience was impeccable. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, with ideal portion sizes and presented beautifully, each bite was bursting with fresh flavours. What stood out most, however, was the staff. They were consistently professional, genuinely friendly, and polite, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Owner Dave deserves special recognition for creating such a remarkable establishment. His attention to detail and hospitality shine through in every aspect of the experience. We genuinely recommend The Crown to anyone looking for a delightful getaway and look forward to returning very soon.

I am in a wheelchair, lucky my wheelchair is quite narrow as the door would not open fully as there was a roller blind on the back of the door as it has glass in the top half so that would really be a solid door and we had to move the bed over to get in the room. When we got the man took us through the front door which had a step which was thought was weird for an accessible room they realize another door with level access but with the blind problem. The room was pretty basic but clean, comfy bed, wardrobe and tv, there was a kettle, etc but did not use this due COVID and there were a throw and pillow on bed so took them off as well. They could with another pull-down bar the other side of the toilet. The cupboard under the sink should come out as cannot reach the sink in a wheelchair. No mirrors anywhere at wheelchair height. They do have a shower chair when we asked for it. The food was ok but pretty basic, cheap white bread and sausages. The stay was pleasant but thought is maybe a little more luxury for the money as it was my husband's birthday so thought I would treat him to somewhere really night but would have gone to Premier Inn. Sorry to say this but the lodges look like they were quite newly built and think they should have got someone in a wheelchair just to advise them on what is needed. If you are in a large chair then do not go there as will not...
