The Atrium Restaurant at Woodbury Park — Restaurant in East Devon

One of the Worst Dining Experiences I’ve Ever Had 1 Star Across the Board I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was so bad I feel compelled to warn others.

When we booked, we were told there’d be a 30 minute wait no problem. But after finally being seated, we walked into a restaurant completely void of atmosphere. It was dead silent no music, no background noise, just awkwardness. I could literally hear my own heartbeat.

The setting was bleak. The restaurant was dark, with uneven tables and dim, gloomy patches throughout. It looked and even smelt like a school dining room. Not what you’d expect from a place trying to be “fancy.”

To make things worse, there was no drinks menu provided. We weren’t given any information or recommendations, just left to guess. The food selection was shockingly limited, and what we did order was utterly flavourless bland, uninspired, and genuinely unpleasant.

The staff were clearly inexperienced and untrained, with no sense of hospitality or customer service. It felt like no one knew what they were doing.

I rated this place 1 star in every single category because that’s the lowest I could go. Overpriced, poorly managed, and completely disappointing.

I would have uploaded photos, but I didn’t want the disgrace of that food living on my phone.

I’ve always enjoyed visiting Woodbury Park, but this restaurant drags the whole place down. Avoid it...

One of the worst dining experiences of my life. If I could give zero stars I would . The restaurant itself has a nice ambience , the menu looked quite good but with little choice. The 8oz rib eye was unavailable , so when I asked the waiter what was the difference between the Persian flat bread with spicy lamb, or spicy lamb with flatbread he didn’t know , his response she was that the flatbread on the lamb dish was more like a popadom , although I pointed out to him that it came with a popadom. We ordered the cod with new potatoes and green beans , which was ok. The fish was plain but ok. The flatbread for £15 was from a packet ( about the size of a 6” pizza) with very little lamb and garnish. A Chicago town pizza would have been better , the flat bread was biscuit like, over cooked and not very appetising . I would not revisit this restaurant . The waitress when taking the plates asked if everything was ok, I explained that it was below my expectations and that the flat bread was not homemade, she said she also didn’t know about the food . PLEASE get a music licence and play some background music, - it’s horribly quiet otherwise and people are whispering and mumbling to each other because it feels awkward to speak at a normal volume!

My veggie food came with a chicken breast on top, despite ordering it specifically without the meat. The receipt shows I didn’t order chicken so it must have been a mix up/assumption in the kitchen.
