We had a Sunday roast meal here whilst on a recent family holiday visit. The Clinton Arms was on rout to the local Haven caravan park , and the Clinton Arms was recommended by a former local village resident. It is recommended you book a table for the Sunday roast as this is popular. We booked a table for 2pm for 3 adults. Arrived and was able to park in dedicated free car park. We entered Clinton Arms and was immediately greeted by a member of staff. We were 10mins early but as we had booked this was not a problem and were swiftly brought to a table. The staff member as if we had been before but as this was our first visit we were informed of how the carvery works and what to do. Shortly after receiving our drinks, we lined up for the carvery. Again pleasant staff member asked which meats we'd like, she swiftly plated up for us and kindly informed to help ourselves to the vegetables. The food was lovely and the meat was very tender. The gravey was a lovely accompaniment to the roast beef and roast pork that I chose. All the vegetables were cooked well and tasted lovely. Cauliflower cheese was lovely and the honey glassed parsnips were a delight. Roast potatoes were beautifully crips outside and fluffy inside. There was a selection of condiments including mint, apple and cranberry sauces. The 3 of us cleared our plates. There are 4 sizes of portions and we each went for the "regular" which was ample and cost £13.95 each, £7.95 for a child. I got the impression that this is mainly a family run business and the the staff member plating food said her parents had cooked the meat. Staff were lovely, helpful, informative and chatty. Not at all pushy but were attentive in clearing up and wiping down tables for the next comstomers. There were families with children here dinning and couples with well behaved dogs. There was a games room with pool table and a children's play area outside. There are tables and chairs outside also should you chosse to dine or drink outside. When in the area next Id like ro come back and tray other food from the menu. Thanks to staff at The Clinton Arms for our lovely meal.

Clinton Arms in Devon is a delightful establishment that perfectly captures the essence of a traditional country pub. Part of our family stayed at a nearby campsite, whilst the other part at Devon cliffs holiday park, a short walk or even shorter drive! the Clinton Arms became a fantastic meeting point, bringing us together for meals and discussions. The service was impeccable, with the lady behind the bar who I assumed was the owner and staff made our visit a memorable experience! The menu offers a variety of traditional pub favorites, including steaks, fish, and freshly cooked chips. The food was excellent, with the chef providing an array of delicious dishes that were well-presented and perfectly cooked. The drinks selection was also impressive, offering a wide variety to choose from. The outdoor garden, with its gated children's area, provided a perfect setting for our five-year-old to run around while we adults enjoyed a leisurely meal together. The pub's atmosphere was reminiscent of its heritage and history, with a vintage feel that added to the charm of the establishment. If you're looking for a relaxing and enjoyable pub experience, we highly recommend booking ahead if possible, especially for our second visit, where we found the food to be quite busy. However, the Clinton Arms is worth the extra effort, and we look forward to our next visit to this lovely pub!

Very welcoming staff, happy friendly vibe as soon as you walk in, the manageress cannot do enough for you, does her best to make sure your visit is a pleasant and nice one, As for the Carvery we arrived early and were seated and allowed to go up earlier than booked, didn’t have to queue long, meats were deliciously done, good selection of veg and like other reviews the gravy was tops, couldn’t squeeze in desert, did struggle walking back up hill to Devon Cliffs once dinner had settled and stuffed 😂 Highly recommend!! thank you from the both of us 👍 will visit next time we are down

The pub is of an average standard on first impressions which is fine if the service is good, it was not. One meal did not arrive, no apology was given and it arrived whilst everyone was eating and we were trying to feed a baby but we made to pay for it upon arrival which was dissapointing. The food is also average, microwave food. One meal was a bap, really cheap quality baps but main issue was the bap was rock hard and couldn't even be bitten. Informed female staff member who fetched a male member of staff. He proceeded to pick up the plate and leave the table with not a single word spoken. He returned and put the SAME plate with a half eaten quantity of chips and SAME cutlery and SAME filling just on a new bap, not a fresh meal. He never asked if the person wanted a fresh meal and to be honest it was not even provided which was the least we expected. Not to mention the obvious COVID breaches with the used cutlery and the staff member only wearing a mask at select times. We asked a female staff member for a refund for the meal and explained the situation, she accommodated the refund and apologised but after this not one member of staff approached our table for any further drinks order etc and we felt as though we were purposely being ignored and made to feel uncomfortable because we made a simple, justified complaint. It is a shame to be honest as we were trying to support a private owned pub instead of a chain and are also only here on holiday for a short time and it has ruined one of our limited nights. Not impressed and will not return, can only hope some notice has been taken and customer service...

Stayed at Devon cliffs.. Passed this and thought it looked nice, Reviews of 4.1 so went there for this reason however was very disappointed. The woman at the bat that greeted us was lovely and welcoming, However food and drink was awful unfortunately. My parter ordered a pint, It was flat as anything and tasted horrible, He went back to the bar with it and the woman told him it was the glass where it had came out the dishwasher and poured his original drink into a new glass and sent him off with it. THE DRINK WAS THE SAME, STILL FLAT AND TASTED DREADFUL. He ended up not drinking it. Food came out, myself and my partner both went for the gammon egg and chips, The gammon looked awfully pale and was extremely fatty, the peas were awful and had clearly been microwaved, there was water all over the plate of food resulting in soggy chips. Chips were over done and tasted like old oil, it was generally just massively disappointing. We also had 2 kids, they had burger, chips and beans, Admiringly their chips looked better but the beans were awful and their burgers were very tough, Very over cooked, My kids struggled to get through them, fair to say their meals looked untouched. Requested more tomato sauce, to be given 4 little sachets, 1 per family member. Very very disappointing, wouldn't recommend for food or drinks unfortunately. Was gutted with our experience. Never again....
