We regularly visit this establishment for their outstanding carvery that is very good value at ÂŁ12.95 with a reduction for over 55's. The Saddlers is always exceptionally clean and tidy, very Covid friendly and the bar and table staff attentive and polite. Our visit this evening 14 January was no exception and we thoroughly enjoyed the carvery that was up to its usual consistently good standard. With a wide choice of freshly cooked meats and now a choice of nine vegetable dishes plus gravy and sauces, it will take some beating. Worthy of mention this evening were the very efficient waitresses and particularly the very polite young man serving the carvery, who came to ours and other tables to ensure we were happy with our meal. A very nice touch. So, all in all, another great experience, well worth a 5 star and we are looking forward to going again soon.

The Sunday roast was incredible!! We had a family of 12, and we were all blown away by the choice and quality of food. The only thing that slightly let it down was the service as we were kicked out after just under 2 hours and didn't get a chance to order pudding for the next table and left to pay at the bar, meaning the bar staff were then bombarded. Also the table that we were sat at, was too low to get our legs under. Other than that, lovely atmosphere, amazing food !! Would recommend booking in advance.

Greetings, Fellow Epicurean Adventurers,

Prepare your senses for an extraordinary voyage as we delve into the culinary tapestry woven by The Saddlers Pub and Ale House. Nestled within its historic walls, this charming establishment in secret town of Exmouth or as the locals call it Topsham, beckons with promises of delectable fare and an ambiance steeped in tradition.

The moment you cross the threshold, the rustic charm of The Saddlers embraces you like an old friend. The scent of age-old timber mingles with the inviting aroma of hearty, soul-warming dishes, setting the stage for an unparalleled gastronomic experience.

At The Saddlers, the menu is a symphony of flavors that traverses time, skillfully blending classic comfort with contemporary innovation. Each dish is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to tantalize your taste buds and evoke a sense of nostalgia for flavors of yesteryears.

The appetizers, a prelude to the culinary marvels to come, are a delightful revelation. Imagine sinking your teeth into crispy artisanal bread, the crust yielding to reveal a soft, flavorful center. Paired with an assortment of house-made spreads and dips, the experience is akin to a palate-awakening overture.

For the main course, the offerings are nothing short of awe-inspiring. Traditional pub fare finds new life with modern twists that elevate every bite. Imagine savoring succulent cuts of meat, cooked to perfection, and accompanied by a symphony of locally sourced vegetables. Each dish tells a story of culinary craftsmanship, the result of a dedicated kitchen team that honors tradition while embracing the art of gastronomic innovation.

The pièce de résistance, however, lies in the dessert offerings. Sweet creations that seem to defy gravity and expectation grace the menu. From velvety chocolate indulgences to delicate fruit-infused masterpieces, each dessert is a sublime finale to an unforgettable meal.

Beyond the culinary splendors, The Saddlers exudes an ambiance that transports you through time. The weathered beams, worn yet sturdy, whisper tales of generations past, creating an intimate setting that feels like a journey into the heart of history. The attentive staff, with their warm smiles and genuine hospitality, add a touch of contemporary warmth to this vintage haven.

In conclusion, The Saddlers Pub and Ale House isn't just a restaurant; it's a symphony of flavors and a portal to a bygone era. Whether you're seeking a place to share a meal with loved ones, celebrate a special occasion, or simply indulge in a culinary adventure, this establishment promises an experience that marries tradition with innovation, leaving an indelible mark on your palate and your heart.

With an appetite for wonder and flavour,

follow on...

I’m usually one to go online to give positive reviews… but I’m annoyed this evening.

Currently holidaying in Devon. Met up with a friend from Devon, at the Saddlers Inn.

We faintly heard a bell at 9:30. We were confused and wondered if that was finally call or not. Looked online and saw that the pub shuts at 11, so thought it must be something else.

However, at 9:50 I heard the lady behind the till quite clearly saying “come on ladies, it’s time to go, the bell’s rung, we’re shutting”. When I spoke to her and said we were unaware and the website says 11pm she claimed to have been counting money. I told her what I heard and she said she didn’t say it, but that they shut at 10 on a Monday. I showed her the google page of times. I said all she had to do was kindly ask if we knew they were shutting. She continued to claim she was just counting money and didn’t say what I heard. So rude. We left promptly. I am angry. Wouldn’t have taken much to pop over and kindly explain that...
