Very disappointed with the way we were treated at this establishment...My sister and I called into the pub on Tuesday afternoon and asked whether we could book a table for 12 in the bar, for the Thursday, they said we couldn't book in the bar but were welcome to come early to ensure seating for all of us...we duly arrived half five and got a table together. Noticing that a table had been reserved in the bar for another party!!!!.(it turns out they were regulars, the same as us) The two tables next to us ordered and were served food so we went to put in our order only to be told that they were very busy in the restaurant and would be unable to serve us!!..other people in the bar had food!!!! Minutes later we were told that if we didn't mind waiting someone would come to the table and take our order so we waited and waited..on enquiring how much longer we would have to wait we were told they were too busy and we would be unable to eat!!! We had arrived at half five and it was now quarter to seven...there were menus set out on the table to me this means they are serving food. We were previously regulars here, four or more of us eating here twice a month. We will not be returning and I would never again recommend others to eat here. It is us locals that keep establishments like this running though the quiet winter months..it's going to be a quieter winter...

In 2020 we bought a static caravan in Weston, Sidmouth and looked around for a pub that was local. What a fantastic find The Wheelright Inn was. The owners Nigel and business partner Sebastian are welcoming and friendly and the pub itself is lovely and quaint with a really nice atmosphere. The food on offer is excellent and has been on every occasion we’ve eaten here. The daytime menu offers plenty of choice as does the evening menu. The food is always great quality and the portions hearty. There is a great selection of drinks and after a trip out, we always seem to pass on the way home and manage to stop for a Devon Red Cider. The Wheelright really is a place to visit when you’re in the area. Five stars all round for pub, food...
Read morePopped in here for a drink on a rainy afternoon. Love the interior with the thatched roof bar, it has a nice rustic feel about the place. The landlord was very friendly and chatty. Very dog-friendly which is a bonus for us. Pretty standard selection of local ales/ciders so would like to see a bigger choice of guest ales maybe? The food menu sounded nice and prices were fairly average for a country pub. My Wife was disappointed to read that the sign she thought said 'Pizza Night' was actually 'Paella Night', a tad shame as it gives the impression that the only decent looking pub in the area seems to cater more for 'Hummus and Olives' type clientele. We'd be happy to come here for a special occasion, but not somewhere we could afford to...
