Cheese chips with gravy? The waitress was really proud of it but I just tried the cheesy chips without the gravy. So glad as the cheesey bit was a gloop. A gloop of maybe, possibly a cheese, but in a floury sauce. A gloop of who knows what! The chips should have been hot (to melt the so called cheese), but they were only mildly warm. The 2nd part was the "Steak Skewers with a 3 cheese Fondue". Now, let's think what a Fondue is... A pot with cheese (3 types as per menu) held above something to make the cheese melt, with a nice steak skewer, with delicious melt in the mouth steak. What I actually got was a skewer of chewy over cooked meat plastered in pepper and salt and flour that was burned, with 3 slices of dried up bread, and a small bowl, containing more gloop! Yes, another version of a floury based so called cheese. Took it back and had my money back. Was offered to have it recooked! The waitress said she'd have a word with the chef, but I'm sorry, this hasn't anything to with him/her as more to do with what they have to heat up! Sorry Beefeater but in the 90's you weren't the greatest and you still haven't learned how to do it well. Where's Gordon Ramsey when you need him? Won't be going back without Gordon! Tip of the day.... Just want something simple, nice glass of wine when staying a Premier Inn next door? Pop across the road to McDonald's for some hot chips or visit the BP garage and get a nice Marks and Spencer sandwich and for £15 get a really nice bottle of wine. Sorry Beefeater, you need to greatly improve.

We visited Beefeater yesterday as a party of four around 12:45. The restaurant was about half full, but when we asked for a table we were told they were fully booked. That didn’t sit quite right, so while walking back to the car I checked their website. At that exact time, plenty of slots were available online starting from 13:00, so I went ahead and booked one for 13:00. We returned at 12:55 and were seated, but the staff member said, “I don’t know how you managed to book this table, I need it back by 3pm.” There was no apology for refusing us at first, no acknowledgment of the mistake or a genuine attempt to explain what happened if it was a system issue, and instead it felt as if we had done something wrong by booking online. The disappointing part wasn’t just the mix-up, but the attitude: plenty of tables were visibly free, and rather than checking properly or trying to accommodate us as walk-ins, the staff brushed us off and then handled the booking poorly too. It left us wondering whether it was just poor customer service, or something else (we're all foreigners), I really hope it wasn’t the latter. Either way, it did not feel welcoming. We made sure to get the bill from the same staff member, whose name shows as “Adam T.” This was our first and will be our last visit to Beefeater, which is a shame because we were genuinely looking forward to trying it - and to be fair, the food itself was decent for the price.

I visited with my family and after seeing the menu was quite looking forward to my meal. This is my first time eating here. It will also be my last. For the price the quality and quantity of food was poor, and the service not really up to par. My meal didn't really resemble the image on the menu with small portions, poor presentation and overcooked wilted broccoli. My children's food faired no better whilst my wifes food came with greasy gravy. On complaining the managers approach was poor and made me feel insignificant. He came across as not interested in the quality of the food, only in a process to resolve the complaint, a very transactional experience and not one I find appealing. The experience was somewhat tainted by this and the food tastes only ok. It's rare that I look back on a meal and would recommend somewhere else, but unless your a die hard beefeater fan i would suggest making an alternative journey, even if it's only to McDonald's across the car park. It's a shame as the convenience when staying in the premier inn should ideally result in a one stop shop for your overnight. I paid almost £50 for a meal for 2 adults and 2 young children... not good. My reviews and images are always honest and open.

One star and they’re lucky to get that I’ve eaten here Four times in total the first time wasn’t too bad the second time I ended up getting a full refund by the manager the third time the service was absolutely shocking and this evening oh my God They put us on the smallest table considering that we had an 18 month old and a six-year-old plus my partner and myself we were struggling for space. I asked if we could move to another table and she said no we’re fully booked. Every single table was empty then a gentleman walked in on his own and they put him in a booth. The food was okay, but the service was absolutely shocking Since when was it correct to lean down on the table to take your order whilst eating something in your mouth? I just don’t think that is accept I agree with a few of the other comments spend more time chatting at the bar than actually dealing with the customers On arrival, they couldn’t even remember the login for the computer and didn’t even know that we had a booking Also forgot the onion ring order and then when my daughter bit into her cheeseburger, she said it tasted Funny we lifted the top of the bun. Both of the underside of the bun was child grilled and burnt asked for another one and we could not believe it. She picked it off the plate with her fingers and took it away. Absolutely shocking. And by the time the onion rings and the bun returned, my daughter finished eating her chips and was not interested in the rest I asked for the bill and the card machine well that just seemed to take forever Would not recommend this place whatsoever I think it’s only going because it is an alternative to McDonald’s Over The Road and potential customer staying...

I'm giving a very generous two stars. I went to this location twice in one day as I was staying at the Premier Inn.

My first experience for lunch was ok. The host and waitress seemed friendly enough, drinks were ok but the pasta was a bit on the bland side (vegetables with linguine). Bill took a bit to get to us, about 15 minutes after we were finished.

Second experience was for dinner. It was busy but not full house busy and my boyfriend and I were walk-ins. The host this time around was unfriendly. Our waiter seemed friendly enough and our drinks and food came at a reasonable time (food was a bit more improved for dinner) but when it came to get a bill well that was the most frustrating part. Our waiter had cleared our table and we clearly stated there was nothing more we wanted to order. About 30 minutes passed and still no bill. Our waiter passes nearby several times but had forgotten us? I was tired of waiting and ended up going to the bar to get my bill. The woman who tended to my bill was just as unfriendly as the host and seemed annoyed I had to go up and ask to pay my bill (how is this my fault?).

Overall, not going to visit this place again even if it is conveniently located at the hotel I am staying at. I'd rather make a 20 minute trek to town and eat at a friendlier cafe with better food and overall better service. Just seems a bit odd the service would be that bad when it should be assume 90% of customers are those staying at the Premier Inn. If I wanted JUST convenience there's always a McDonalds literally...
