Great food at a reasonable price. Loved the Halloumi chips, Goats Cheese Terrine with roast vegetables and the Filo parcel of cream cheese and hand cut chips with skins on . Also enjoyed the Lemon cheese cake presented as in a Michelin star restaurant. The individual Apple pie with sultanas and custard was large and tasty. Recommend the Guest Ale. Partner had a Wine Spritzer. Total. Bill £40 was good value.

Read moreHaving worked in this pub a few years back, I was keen to find out what the new landlords had done with the place. We dined with The Goat on a Sunday afternoon, we had a late booking 4.30pm and intension was to have a roast dinner. We were met by the friendly staff who were very warm and inviting, showed us to our table and handed us the menu, which unfortunately didn't show the roast dinners which was disappointing, especially as that was what we were going there for :-( We asked one of the passing staff and she kindly told us yes there was roast dinners and told us what was available which immediately cheered us up again and especially when we witnessed what was coming out of the kitchen! We ordered starters, calamari and garlic mushrooms, these were out of this world with flavour and presentation! We also ordered the Pork and Beef roast. I have to say, most probably the best roast dinner we have had out in years! It was well cooked, plentiful and extremely tasty! We ended up have a lovely chat with the new landlady and overall were very pleased we revisited. The pub was spotlessly clean and the decor was warm and friendly. We enjoyed it so much we rebooked for the following week with my parents!!...
Read moreIt’s mean to be A family pub which should have food for all parties of the family. Kids, adults and elderly. I don't think they like people not English or local. Nephew is lactose intolerable but only two items on menu and no dessert for them. No diet or sugar free drinks just water and this is a pub whose main aspect is to provide drinks for customers. They Placed us on a table with no room for people to squeeze past into the kitchen and kept kicking the high chair with the child in place. Instead of giving us a better suited table which they did have. No health options for people which is shocking. They do a chicken salad for kids but not an adult portion. Food was nice as least but service was terrible. Didn’t know anything about the menu. Was not apologetic after she dropped the milk for another customer and it splashed me and my son. No Sunday roast on the menu we were given but other customers seemed to have been able to order it. Maybe it’s because they don’t like people not British going into their pub as we surely didn’t get the same service as the English...
