We visited on Sunday planning to try their very reasonably priced Ciabatta options. Although they are not available on Sunday the young lady taking our order spoke to the Chef and he kindly agreed that we could order them. We had Caprese and a Steak Ciabatta with delicious good sized helping of skinny fries on a side a small slaw. Everything was delicious. They were cut in half so easy to eat and we each ate half of one another's order. The staff were excellent as was the food. I had a tasty Oakham Citra beer and my partner a medium diet coke. Our visit cost just £24 - incredibly good value. We were not there to watch the sport but several different sports were being broadcast. We could see The F1 and Olympics and It was great that the volume was not loud. There is a garden and the pub is dog friendly and walks nearby in the Hertford Heath Nature Reserve. A quaint (but lovely), family run local pub that specialises in home made pies & puds. We ordered (& greatly enjoyed) a Steak, Marmite & Mushroom pie as well as a Chicken & Mushroom Pie that came with a selection of options & lashings of gravy - both were delicious & generous in size. For dessert I ordered a Rhubarb Crumble with custard (to take away), which they were pleased to arrange without query.
