Recommended by a local. This pub is easy to find & has 8-9 outdoor parking spaces to the rear. The bar staff are friendly, professional & constantly industrious. The food was very underwhelming. Sunday - 1715 hrs. - We ordered a large mixed grill from the Specials menu & the chicken & leek pie. The chips, on both meals, were lukewarm & soggy ( from a bain Marie where they'd been for some time perhaps ?) Long enough to get cold. The pie itself was delicious. The meat on the mixed grill had been cooked with a laissez faire attitude, the steak, ordered med. rare after I was asked how I wanted it - so not a 'Diva Demand', was, at best, medium. Not pink at all The Lincolnshire sausages were possibly from that days breakfast ? Or some other meal. They were absolutely overcooked. Possibly also 'chucked' in the deep fat fryer as they were extremely dark, burnt, dry & crispy. The pork loin was over cooked. The lamb chop was well done. Again no caramelisation on any of the bland tasting unseasoned meat so the whole thing looked & tasted 'poached'. The fat 'rand' upon the meats was simply uncooked pale gristle. Apropos poached - I had to use 2 large paper serviettes to try to soak up the water ( fingers crossed !) that the food was swimming in. Nothing seemed grilled or pan fried on the mixed GRILL .- the clue's in the name folks ! Everything seemed steamed or watery. A real let down for me & my partner - we even tried swapping meals with each other halfway through to see if we were just being picky. The garden peas were hard - NOT 'al dente' but dried hard. The 'sweet red cabbage' that I was looking forward to was overcooked tasteless red cabbage with a sickly sweetness. None of the normal rich deep red cabbage tartness with slight overtones of a pinch of sweetening agent of some kind. Carrots were ok though :).... Nb- Once the chips were mentioned, upon food being brought to the table, the attentive server took them away to replace them with hot albeit much smaller, fresher portions & apologised several times ,which was...

Came in for a nice meal with my girlfriend while on holiday, very limited parking outside but found a space and went in. Upon entry we were greeted with dirty looks from all the locals and staff and felt immediately as if we shouldn’t have been there however we chose to sit down and order as there was nowhere else near. The staff were blunt when it came to ordering and made no effort of conversation even though they were happily chatting to all the other customers even when serving us. Only one member of staff made the experience more enjoyable and that was the younger barman, who was pleasant .We ordered lasagne and hunters chicken which took over an hour to get to us, in which time we continued to receive dirty looks and snide comments from the locals and staff. People who came in after us and ordered the same meals received their food before us which I think is entirely unfair. The waitress who served us our food was very sarcastic in the way they spoke and clearly used a different tone to us than to anyone else there. The hunters chicken was okay however the lasagne was not nice. Both came with chips and salad where the salad was warm and the chips were cold. I would not recommend this pub to anyone who is staying on holiday in the area and instead suggest driving that little further into Mablethorpe or even another pub as any would be more welcoming than this. But with all that said I enjoyed the tiny humbug we got at the end! Best Bit...

We called 15 mins ahead and they seated us. Staff really friendly and they had a seperate bar area to the eating area which was nice. Decent size carpark but can imagine they get packed when really busy.

I had my 2 children with me and they asked about drinks and bought them out super quick. We ordered and I have to say. It was amazing. My son had a fisherman's catch. Fish, fishcake, scampi and battered sausage 😋 and we all shared it and tried. Amazing fish!!! My daughter had a kids menu sausage mash and beans and even brought out gravy for her. I had hunters chicken but swapped chips for mash and salad for veg. I have to say I have it regularly and it was delicious, one of the best, the bbq sauce/gravy on it was tangy and tasty. Juicy chicken and tons of bacon and cheese.

I saw a burger come out and a pie to another customer and they looked amazing.

Good selection of beers, ales on tap and a great selection of gin flavours too.

We had Puddings and ice cream very creamy and good flavour. Pavlova was tasty but could have done with more fruit. And the sticky toffee pudding was soft and sweet. So 😋 delicious.

Overall a must stop for any meal and will visit again before we go home.

Thanks for a...

From the minute we arrived the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. They were prompt to make sure we could get dad's wheelchair in, and accommodate the dogs in the bar area with towels to sit on and treats to keep them occupied. Orders for food and drink were taken promptly and the staff took time to chat and make us feel like VIP guests. Food was prompt and really good, reasonable prices and nice surroundings. The positive reviews about this place are well deserved, this is how all pubs should be! 5 stars! ☺️

Went for lunch on wedding anniversary. Been before was very good. Let down this time. By poor chefing. 1 Where was the tomatoes in the prawn cocktail all cucumber and lettuce. 2 nice pie and veg let down by poor gravy 3 Not sure why my dessert got forgotten. Reminded the waitress. I ordered apple and blackberry crumble with custard. What arrived was 2 spoons of strawberry jam with a crumble mix thrown on top. Felt sorry for the waitress who was very good. We pass about 7 eating places on way to axe and cleaver.

Food was excellent and value for money. It is exactly what it says on the tin....good pub grub. They have a fantastic range of drinks on offer, the staff are lovely and lots of seating indoors and outdoors. A great place to stop off on the way back from fishing, work or just on a bit of a drive/ride. Seen lots of bikers in there. Great atmosphere, and as far as I am aware dog friendly
