We visited for my wife's birthday, we had not eaten in the Caffè before but the food looked good, we stood and waited for a table, we eventually got a table I went up and ordered they asked for the table number I said I think it was table 4 and I went to check but with that the waitress said it's OK it's table 5, i payed and sat back down, the tea come to the table then a while later they gave the table next to us one plate of food then a few minutes later another, then I heard the table call the waitress over and say it wasn't there food, so I watched her pick the plates up walk into the kitchen then straight back to our table ! I asked if this is the food that they had just put on the table next to us? she sheepishly said yeas , she looked a bit worried and asked if I wanted it !! I said I would take the food even though it had just sat on the table next to us in front of another customer,a short while later I called the waitress over as she finished serving another customer and asked if I could have an extra butter please, she disappeared off and come back and said they would need to charge me 30p 🤣😳😳! I said no, thank you, and I thought that was a bit disappointing, especially as I just took the food that sat on the wrong table to help them out, then another waitress come over and asked the problem ! for what reason I'm not sure, so I explained ! she was quite rude and defensive over paying for the butter and i had already said i didn't want it ! so I went to the till ! I asked for the manager, and she didn't want to come out of the kitchen. When she did, 2 of the waitress and the manager tried to argue that the table next to us was at fault for letting it sit on their table ! Then that I gave the waitress the wrong table number ! Even though they already brought the tea out to us ! And I had told the girl table 4 and she had said table 5 ! Then they argued about how much everything costs !! Lol ! They were really rude. Nothing was their fault ! I took the food to help them out and explained I just asked for some butter and if I chose not to take the food surely that would of cost more than 30p !!! They didn't even off an apology once, not one of the staff or the manager/owner ! The food was not cheap and was nothing special but we were there for the view !! Disgusting service !!! Rude staff ! Really...

This time however was totally different! So my girlfriend went to the bar and was told she needed her table number even to order drinks… (why!?) so she said she didn’t know the number but she could go and get it. She was then told to not bother and there was queue forming and my girlfriend was made to feel like she was the problem. She was then accused of being rude, despite not really saying or doing much. She was then asked by another member of staff what she wanted and she said “a pint and a half of cider” the girl behind the bar then pulled 2 and a half pints of lager. My girlfriend apologised and said that she actually wanted a pint and a half of cider. To which the different member of staff ‘huffed’ in disgust. She then came outside with the drinks and was worried that she may have been rude so asked the waitress if the bar staff member was okay to which she said “no you made her cry”. So we asked to see the manager to smooth things over. This is when the absolute circus began. The manager did nothing to appease the situation, she just defended her staff member and disagreed with everything we said. Even to the point where we had said “we understand the girl is new…” to which she snapped back at us “she’s not new”… The manager went inside and the waitress came out and asked us to leave as we had now made two members of staff cry. Why you would have a manager in place who can’t take a very slight criticism in the chin is beyond me. The long and short of it is I would have gladly drank four or five ciders and maybe even had something to eat. On top of this my mother in law regularly brings her friends here (a group of 8) and they will spend upwards of £200 on the summer. We will not be returning, neither will my mother in law as we were mortified by the accusations we received. It’s quite clear the staff here are a ‘girls club’ and until something changes we shall not come back. Thoroughly disappointing and I hope something...
Read moreAwesome place with good access to watch the sea without having to go on the sand, both the view & food are something else. A mix of local handmade food and branded snacks, we had lunch there, which consisted of a roll that came with side salad & rustic chips, a burger, rustic chips which also came with side salad and a child's large fish finger, rustic chips and baked beans. The rustic chips are just fantastic and so good. Never had such amazing, healthy chips but will definitely be going back for more next year. We went on a beautiful hot day in early September, so the cafe was packed with a mix of local people and tourists, luckily we were still able to get a table quite quickly. The only gripe was once parked we aimed to go up to the building on the left hand(road) side as it looked to be the easiest option up to the lift for wheelchair access. The left hand side also didn't seem as steep as the right hand slope but as we got to the left side (road side) where the path should have been, we found that the slope was just made of sand so not accessible for a wheelchair user. So we had to go back through the car park and go up the steeper slope to go back down towards the left hand (road) side, to gain ramped access to the lifts, which seems a little bizarre but it was still worth the effort. My biggest plus as a wheelchair user was the bathroom, which had ample space for 2 people, changing space and a fully accessible toilet, all the hand rails and grab bars needed. I know this sounds daft but I know more than enough restaurants/cafes with terrible disabled bathrooms, who could take a leaf out of this very well done space. I can honestly say I have travelled around the UK to know what a good/bad disabled toilet looks like and my top 2 best disabled bathrooms come from this last visit to the Chapel At Leonard's area. The observatory comes in as a very close second to Lincolnshire Wildlife Centre. Dog friendly as is the whole of Skegness/Chapel St...
