Been coming here for 9 months now. Still very consistent with the freshly made food, yummy cakes, delicious cofffee and wonderful staff.... HOWEVER... The last 5 visits seem to be more of a dogs meeting place, than a cafe, where you can enjoy the scenery and relax while relishing the meal in front of you... So far, I have tripped over a lead, slipped on a watery mess, been blatantly stared at when I got up from my chair, for not realising someone's dog was right behind me.... And the last time (which is what prompted me to write this review) I got splashed down the left side of my face from someone's wet dog needing to shake it's fur and dribble in me - and maybe my food too, which resulted in me not being able to finish it. On the visit before that, a dog made a mess on the floor, so the owner took it outside, but the other two people never said anything while I was watching staff very closely miss the small puddle of whatever it was. Out of respect, I finally told the girl at the counter, and the owner saw me pointing it out and quickly wiped it up with a tissue from her pocket! I dread to think what would have happened if it wasn't cleared up....No doubt that one of the staff carrying somebody's meal would have slipped in it and fell. Finally, I'm sorry I had to say something, but a lot of people I have spoken to have said they are not even returning due to the amount of dogs there. Why not open up the back room for dog owners only, then we can ALL fully enjoy the food AND the experience?

We decided on a last-minute bit of spontaneity and headed out to this beautiful unpopulated beach area that is in fact the North Sea. We took the dog and arrived about an hour before sundown. It was mid-April 22 and the weather was sunny and around 9-15c. Blustery but mild and intermittent warmth in the sun. And we dressed for the occasion. We took some deck chairs and had some prosecco on the beach to celebrate my partner's upcoming birthday. It's a very romantic and peaceful location watching the waves roll in the constant surf with no landmarks the eye can see, was very calming. Just the wind turbines scattered across the horizon viewed through the spray of the surf sometimes gave the illusion of another city or place nestled between the distant waves. We dressed for the weather so we were warm. If the temperatures had been higher it would have been a warmer experience. But we revelled in the isolation and peace with just one other person on the beach who was mesmerised as they stared into the sea and another dog walker passed by. My partner and I shared golden moments of peace a sharp contrast from the busy worlds we both occupy. I felt my spirits lift as I walked along the beach picking up stones chased by the dog. If it had been warmer I would have stayed and walked for hours. We shall return soon. Just try not to tell everyone about it. 😉😊

Fantastic little seaside cafe located within the North Sea Observatory, just up from Chapel St Leonard's. There's an adjacent car park (£1 per hour), or it makes a nice destination for a refreshment break for those walking along the beach, and is dog friendly too. There's plenty of choice when it comes to food & drink, with anything from tea & cake, snacks and breakfasts to complete meals, all of which are fairly priced and good quality. Also worth mentioning, they have a good selection of vegetarian & vegan options too. Plenty of seating, and extremely pleasant & helpful staff, make for an enjoyable experience. The huge glass windows offer an amazing view, looking out over the North Sea, which depending on the time of year can be quite dramatic. On warmer, sunny days there's also outdoor seating available. Whilst there, why not take the opportunity to view the photos & information within the observatory, and you can't miss the history & large model of a Maersk container ship, great for the kids. You can also make use of the binoculars they have available, and you never know, you might see something interesting besides the wind turbines.

We visited the North Sea Observatory on a Tuesday afternoon, roughly an hour before closing. There are plenty of signs inside the building which provide information about the views, local area and local wildlife. Apart from the views and the nearby beach, the main attraction here is the cafe. The cafe was fairly busy but there were still plenty of seats available, with all tables offering breathtaking views through the panoramic windows. There were also a few outdoor tables but, given the cold November weather, nobody was sat there. The cafe operates on a table number basis, with orders placed at the bar and your order brought to your table when it's ready. We were very happy with the service provided by the staff here and were very pleased with the price and quality of our hot drinks (with the hot chocolate strongly recommended). Outside, the Observatory offers panoramic views along the coast and provides easy access to the beach and local stretch of the coast path.

Absolutely lovely. Have an invisible disability and haven't really been away from home since pre-pandemic, and haven't seen the sea in 5 years. Came over with my partner, his parents, & our dog. Had a lovely lunch on the patio, then we turned one of the chairs to face the sea, and I wrapped up in a blanket, had another cup of tea and read my book in the lovely fresh air, watched the waves and thoroughly enjoyed myself for two hours while everyone else enjoyed a long walk up the coast. Thanks to the delightful staff, I was able to sit in comfort and relax, and even toddle 50m down the beach to meet the family before heading into the cafe again for warming hot chocolate and cake. You guys really made my day, am home now, and exhausted, but still smiling. Thank you very, very much for your kindness.

I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Reccomended by a local for its stunning views of the sea, beach, and food, it was a must. It was indeed A MUST VISIT location. A lovely cafe restaurant with views of the sea and lovely food to eat as you do so. The service was good, the quality and portions of the food was good and the prices were competitive. There is some gluten free options but always check, similar with vegan/vegetarian I imagine. There is a public car park which you have to pay for but this is not too expensive The place also has information boards telling uou about the local history of war time Lincoln, the fishing, tsea transport, migrating birds and so much more. I had a breakfast and coffee. A most enjoyable way to spend time. Highly Reccomend Visiting from Norfolk
