It's 2021. We've had chip & pin cards since 2004. We've had contactless card payments for over a decade now. What on earth are they doing STILL running a cash only business?? Never mind the fact that we're still in a global pandemic where physical cash still poses a health risk. Cash only businesses need to get with the modern era of card payments or go the way of the dinosaurs. Frankly ridiculous. Me and a mate had travelled nearly 200miles on bikes, looked for a stop and a rest and some food & coffee. Luckily my mate had cash, otherwise you'd have lost 2 potential customers. We did like the look of the desserts, but we'd run out of cash, after paying for the breakfasts and coffees, so more lost business. Other than that, the staff were welcoming and friendly, the food was very good quality and reasonably priced. Plenty of onsite parking, away from the busy road, both outdoor and indoor seating areas. The cafe was clean and tidy throughout. Would happily recommend, just make sure you've brought cash. Would give 5 stars but for the inconvenience...
Read morePopped in as driven past lots of times to see what it was like as the car park out side is busy. I now know why. The breakfast was lovely. Looked at the menu on the wall and asked about gluten free. Yes we can do that. Was said. It's amazing how many times in different places you ask that and you get the rolling eye and the look on the face say oh your one of them are you. But being told no problem was amazing. Its my wife that needs gluten free. So we both ordered a full breakfast. I have taken 2 pictures. One of an gluten free and a normal breakfast. And both look similar. It was great that it wasn't a problem and mine and wife's we recomend. Will definitely go again.
All cooked great. Hot. And a great coffee. Clean . Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of room round the tables. Didn't wait long for the...
Read moreLarge free car park. Inside clean and tidy. Regular table clearing and wiping taking place. Toilets available. (Ladies had run out of paper but was rectified as soon as reported). Plenty of room between tables, not all squashed in. Meals cooked fresh to order. Staff very friendly and helpful. Granddaughter didn't fancy a cooked breakfast or sandwich, so a cereal was offered. That's a nice touch, having cereal available in a roadside cafe. Breakfasts were very nice. Pot of tea rather than just a mugful. Had a nice warm scone with jam and cream. Mmm. Prices very reasonable. (I had stopped off at JJ's cafe just up the road earlier, and Rachel's cafe is by far better.) If you're passing, this is the...
