Fantastic little Bateman's pub specialising in beer and pies! Clean, well looked after local pub with a decent selection of real ales, lagers and spirits. Well stocked gin bar too, very impressive. They do a range of hot pies with a choice of gravy, mash and peas. Very good value for money and delicious. Highly recommended.

Warm friendly welcome, family run, spotlessly clean, good service and great pies. I would happily have ordered any of the pies on the menu. Generous portions well worth a visit. Deserve to do well. Happy to eat there again anytime. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely little pub. Very friendly staff and dogs are welcome. We sat in the courtyard garden behind the pub and had their fantastic pies for lunch. I'd thoroughly recommend this place to anyone.....and its next door to a cheese shop and a terrific bakery.

What a fantastic breath of fresh air! Excellent old fashioned pub with thatched roof. Food choice is: pies and mash/veg etc. Sounds like a limited choice, but it was presented swiftly and perfectly from cheerful friendly staff. We ate outside in the comfortable and attractively decorated beer garden. Both mine and my wife's plate were left clean! And - all washed down with arguably the country's best ale: Bateman's XXXB from the county's brewery at Wainfleet. I had almost abandoned hope of getting a good meal in this country, but this establishment has restored my faith in the hospitality...

First visit - friendly bar staff and people at bar. Second time , today, bar person looked at me like I had 3 heads, and acted totally disinterested. Then let me sit at the only available table, with my dog before 10 minutes later asked a bloke at the bar to ask me to move so they could set up for the musician playing later. No option but to sit at the bar on a stool. Bar person smiled at other people she served, who were obviously local. 5 stars for first visit. 1 for second. Not interested in a 3rd go. The Mall in Woodhall Spa is a lot more expensive - and a whole lot...

We try to visit whenever passing through the town. Amazing thatched building on the high street. Mind the low ceilings :) Cosy, clean interior with lots of nice beer and pub related items like pump clips and beer mats decorating the bar area. Always seems friendly and good range of Batemans ales on the bar. Enclosed beer garden to the rear. We didn't have food but the pie based menu looks like great value with a filling and level of sides to suit all appetites. Toilets spotless on a...
