Total chaos! Sunday lunch. Been coming for years & has always been a favourite. Under new management & boy does it show! Booked on Saturday afternoon. All seemed ok. Arrived to be told it would be in the bar not the restaurant. No apology. Shown to a bench table at the back between an external door & door to toilets. Table was barely wide enough for a plate! We noticed that a table for four cud be split so they did & we moved. Took order immediately. But took 45 mins for over cooked fishcake starter to arrive. Then another 45 minute wait after we’d eaten starters for main. Everyone was complaining. Couple next door had theirs delivered late & with part of the food being brought out 10 mins later in a small dish. waitress asked them to post a good review! 😳

Staff were running round like headless chickens. Only 3 choices for main roast dinner - lamb. Ham. Or veg version. Lamb was lovely & fresh veg. Asked for bill. Waited 30 mins. Asked again. 10 mins nothing. Stood up. Put coat on & loudly said the dinner is free. Then they came with bill. Asked for bill to be split 50/50. Told waitress how much off each card. She took the full amount off first card. Then said too late - doh I did instruct beforehand! I asked if it was new management. She confirmed & asked why. I said it shows as it was an awful experience. The young woman said she was one of the new owners. No apology for bad...

I had lunch with 3 old biker buddies. Every month we try a different pub, this was our first time here. Firstly the parking is great plenty of spaces in large carpark. The pub has a old worldly feel with lovely wooden tables and comfy chairs. There was only one member of staff on as we’d booked a early slot. Sam I think his name was, greeted from the off and asked us what we’d like to drink. There was a good selection of cask beers and popular lagers. The restaurant was getting busy so we waited for the drinks and took them back to our table. No problem we were happy to help. Within 5 minutes we had the menu. Wow what a great selection at keen prices. We all decided on the lunchtime menu 2 courses for £13.50. Again we all selected the fish cake starter. Which was brilliant, then the mains were pork loin with mash. Both courses were beautifully cooked, it went down a treat. At this point I must point out the portions were not massive, but in our opinion fantastic value for money. It’s not like a evening meal, you don’t really need a big meal at lunchtime. I must point out Sam worked his socks off, and there was no discernible delay between courses. We’d definitely go there again, a very pleasant experience indeed.Highly...

We had Sunday lunch at the Jinnie earlier in the year which was excellent so decided to book for Xmas Day lunch. Booking was easy and preordered from a great selection of starters, mains and desserts. Excellent communication with the Jinnie team and they helped when I needed to make some last minute changes accommodating us kindly. We arrived early on Christmas Day to a busy pub with a fantastic atmosphere. We had a few pre drinks and found a cosy table to sit at. We were then shown to lovely table in window for our Christmas Day feast on the 2nd sitting. A huge thank for a great Christmas Day with Simon Sally and the team. The Xmas lunch was absolutely delicious. The service was attentive and not too fast or too slow. Just right. We all had such a fabulous time. We highly recommend The Jinnie and without doubt would eat again any day or Xmas Day. Please pass on our thanks...

We've been meaning to come here for a bite to eat for a long while and we're glad we did! The pub has a lovely ambience about it and the food was absolutely perfect, we went in for lunch and there was an offer for 2 courses for £10, we both had this and didn't regret it, starter and main were presented impeccably and tasted amazing. The beer was good and the staff were friendly. We will definitely come back on an evening and try something off the main menu which looks excellent. Overall an absolutely faultless meal, really enjoyed it and will 100% be back!!

We arrived thinking we would join in the Easter activities but didn't realise we had to book before hand. Lucky for us, the event was canceled and my children could play in their teepee anyway. They were also starting up their pizza oven and giving out free samples so we were able to try that too. The kids were also given a free Easter egg which was so lovely. Our first experience will be a tough one to beat.

Been here a couple of times a few years back and the food was always excellent. I think we must have caught this place on a bad day as the food was not great. The service was friendly and quick, but my steak pie pastry was tough to eat and had been heavily peppered. The servings were pretty small also. The latest reviews are still good, so perhaps its a midweek thing.
