I have been visiting the Chestnut & Rose since I went dairy free as my newborn baby was allergic to milk. I turned up to the cafe with a newborn baby on the verge of tears because I didn’t think I’d find food that was nice or tasty! I was greeted by the lovely Sam, I explained my situation and how I felt a bit lost. She talked me through their menu, what alternatives they use, gave me ideas of good quality brands, who to follow on instagram for recipe ideas and asked Sarah the owner to help. I have since been going back regularly with family, friends or even on my own for breakfast and lunches. The food is absolutely delicious, probably my favourite cafe in Ipswich! I have been regularly getting a half and half brunch box when I meet up with my cousin. We always comment on the quality and how exceptional the food really is! I haven’t had a bad bite of food. Ever! Everyone is friendly, the counter is always bursting with delicious treats and I’m always amazed that everything I get from there...
Read moreOver the Easter holidays we visited my mum back in Ipswich. My 2-year-old is constantly on the go so we thought we would distract him with food and visit a gorgeous café called Chestnut and Rose. The decor is cute and was Eater themed. My son loved the bunny bunting and pressing their fluffy tails. The staff were brilliant with him, getting him to say the colours of the bunny's tails and got a basket of things he could play with. We were all very happy with our choices but it was dessert we wanted the most - they looked exceptional. However, unbeknown to my wife and I, my mum had pre-ordered a birthday cake for my son for us to share. It was the tastiest Victoria sponge and the buttercream was beautifully piped. We will certainly be returning on our next...
Read moreThe place was nice overall. Busy and very accommodating. But just staff moaning about the strike and the fact the teenagers were in the cafe. Sad day when the politics of the world are not fully fathomed. Doubt it would be a place I would go back.. sad as food was ok. Thanks for the feedback Sarah.. understanding and compassion for those that work long hours like yourself is part of the cultural intelligence of suffolk and neiche business owners...
The food was ok , sweet dishes looked lovely but it threw me with not just the snippet the conversations that staff were having just was not the best time or place to be voicing opinions in front of customers who may or may not have had to deal with. The Industrial action. I hope you realise they don't get paid for striking.... and families loose out in this Time of recession.. which may or may not impact...
