Nothing wrong with The Dooley Inn, plenty of parking, clean interior, friendly hosts and extensive menu. Went for lunch on a hot sunny Wednesday, only just opened and had a couple of people on having a drink. Host was serving them but still was able to tell us what was what as not been before. We decided to eat out in the garden area, plenty of tables and chairs, some under cover. We got the menus and were told of the specials available, and even though the sign on the bar says get a table, then come to bar with your order and table number, the host said don't worry, she will come and get this from us, the same for drinks. I had a Dooley Burger and my wife had a lasagne. Ap couple of drinks as well. We were not disappointed, both drinks arrived very quickly, with condiments and cutlery for food, and within 10 minutes the food arrived. It was hot and tasty, mine far too much and ashamed I had to leave a little but my wife cleared her plate. Price was reasonable and the only downside is the location, if outside then it get noisy as not far from container port and major dock road junction. Don't let this put you off though and when leaving we could see by the amount of people inside, it is very popular and we will...
Read moreWell this little gem of an establishment is hidden away from the main town centre this being said the staff go out if their way to help you and make your visit special. Mike had the Gammon which was perfect and just to his liking, I had The Dooley Burger which was superb. We pushed the boat out so to dream and had desert too Mike had syrup sponge with custard and I had chocolate icecream. The service was excellent and the establishment goes above and beyond in our community as a whole as they regularly have fund raisers for charity, one on Sunday they gad an event to raise money for Epilepsy Awareness and raised well over a thousand pounds, I understand they have another event today. Well done to all at The Dooley...
Read moreI've been wanting to write this review for a while now. I want to say how brilliant this traditional pub is. The welcome you receive is very friendly and warm. The staff here are so nice and friendly, including the chef. The food is very good and so is the price. We had the Sunday roast just like mum used to cook. The portions and quality of food was just right. The atmosphere had a nice relaxing ambience, with no loud music. There is a smoking shelter out the front of the pub, and a beer garden at the back with a lawn, tables and chairs. We have been a few times over the last couple of months and really enjoyed it here. We look forward to...
