Farmhouse — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Waste of time and money!!!! Went there on a Saturday around 5 and sat outside with my partner, went to get our drinks which was fine nice and quick service, then went to order my steak and chips RARE AND MY PARTNERS waffles as his a vegetarian. Whilst waiting for our food obviously being a hot day I had drunk my drink and when I went in to get a new one there was a male serving and flirting with the two girls and got there drinks no problem then when it came to my turn to get my drinks he went to another till and started serving someone who had already been seen to. I then moved up the bar and finally got served after standing around for 15 minutes!!! When I finally got to our table and our food came out my steak was far from rare more like ruined!!! Took it back and let them know it wasn’t rare and I didn’t even get an apology!! I just got let me see what we can do, I then waited at our table for my food and by the time it had arrived my partner had already finished his food so no eating our meal together! The steak was not even rare again but I was so fed up of waiting around I got in with it. Our dessert then took 40 MINUTES to get to us!!!! And it wasn’t worth weiting home about. Fair enough this is a hungry horse and you get what you pay for but I’ve never been to a hungry horse like this before, no politeness to customers and the food is rubbish I wouldn’t even feed it to my dogs!!!! I visited this establishment yesterday, which was a saturday, and it certainly did it's job at making a bad day better. It had been a week since my divorce with Richard was finalised, and to say I wasn't missing him would have been a lie. I was feeling pretty down that and my friends who have been with me since the start decided that we should go out and get a late lunch. We had never been to this place before and we decided to be a bit spontaneous and go and try it. I was pleasently surprised. The prices are food were what I consider cheap, and it had some of my classic pub favourites. Saturday is my cheat day, so I decided to treat myself to the fish and chips, and I found it quite tasty. I ate it all, because I have no one at home who will complain at me for my weight anymore. My meal also went well with the few glasses of wine that I just had to have. The waitstaff also exceeded my expectations. There was a young lad behind the bar who was very good at what he did and was very quick. Our waitress was exceptionally good and always had a lovely smile on my face. She also had very bright almost white hair, that I just wished that I could pull off but I don't have the complexion of confidence for it. Well I haven't got a good word to say about this pub restaurant. The service was shocking. I went there for lunch with my 2 aunties and my sister . So 4 meals ordered. 1 came out after 15 minutes and then another 2 came out after another 10 minutes and finally mine came out a further 15 minutes later, after they had the cheek to serve the table next to us with their meals. We ordered ours first. We all ate one our own. My food was cold other than the hash browns that they used as an excuse for being delayed. We never got asked if the food was ok,or on our departure goodbye and we hope to see you again soon. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Needless to say we won't be returning. We went out to eat together. Surely that isn't a lot to ask is it? , common courtesy also was lacking. They obviously need to retrain their staff in having manners. Also valuing all customers. Well I went back to this restaurant yesterday night and I've got to say they did turn things around. The service was excellent and the food was hot and came out all together so me ,my husband and our sons had a very pleasant experience. We had great staff serving us very attentive service.
