Very unwelcoming pub with a discriminatory interpretation of the covid regulations. We live in East Suffolk and an A board sign was placed outside the establishment stating "Regulars and locals only" (please see photo). It would have been our first meal there but we did not want to approach the pub any further. A business that promotes a stance of serving 'locals and regulars' only is insular, backward and discriminatory. I understand safety is of utmost importance, but being 'local' does not mean you cannot have the virus.

A wonderful afternoon in this lovely establishment. Dog-friendly 🐕 The staff are friendly & welcoming. Relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the ambience with a pint or two! Across the way is a stoney beach & sandy grasses along the seascape. Food available, warm savoury pastries & bar snacks. Full seasonal varied menu with fresh ingredients. A large free car park. The spacious marquee has plenty of outside seating, plus grassed area seating too. Definitely will visit again and I highly recommend it.

As we had been to the Sailors Home several times and had very good food, we thought we would go there with 2 of our grandchildren for our 19th Wedding Anniversary meal.

We arrived at 6:30pm and found a table I went to the bar and ordered drinks and took some menus the lady serving said they were not taking any more food orders but then the lady from the kitchen said it's ok to order so went back to table and decided on our meals and went back to the bar to order a young man behind the bar who I believe is the landlords son said sorry the kitchen has said not to take any orders, I said the kitchen said it was ok, but he just repeated himself, so I asked will they be taking orders later and he replied as the kitchen closed in 21 minutes, No. I went back to our table to told my wife and grandchildren who were disappointed. Then at 7pm we noticed the same barman taking food orders so I went to the bar and said you told me the kitchen was not taking orders he said they are not and I've just got in trouble for taking that one So what's your problem, I was shocked by his attitude and tried to explain what had happened the lady with blonde hair who served me first came over and said she told me they would try and take our order, this was a lie, so repeated to her what had happened the barman then repeated so what you getting at what's your problem more aggressively I did wonder if he was going to punch me. I told them both that I liked coming here but will not be coming back and the barman said why ? I replied because you attitude stinks

I went back to my table and told my wife we are leaving and to finish our drinks, as we walked out, I could hear the women behind the bar shouting, "Thats it, take it out on the bar staff because the kitchen closed"

They have a lot of signs up implying to treat the staff with respect they need to try doing the same to...

Amazing dog friendly pub with friendly staff, good live music and sea views.

My girlfriend and myself have been in here for the last three evenings and the staff could not be more accommodating. I didn’t enjoy only one of the many (8) real ales available at any one time so the manager took it upon himself to bring me another that he thought I would like based on his memory of what I was drinking. I happened to see the same barmaid 4 times when ordering drinks last night she couldn’t have been more friendly Talking about different drinks the offer and even found a honey rum they didn’t have on the menu to give to me. The menu is extensive and the food comes out extremely fast even when the pub is busy. I have never been into a pub in a tourist area that gives the service of your local at home. Their pieces are also great. £10 for a main course and £3 for a spirit with a mixer. We really get at home there and look forward to...
