I can support comments made about the rude and unprofessional staff and owners. I have travelled the world and visited a lot of restaurants in my time but have never witnessed someone being spoke to as I witnessed on Thursday 14th August

The family had arrived at 5pm for paella night and had fed the children before due to them not having a taste for paella. Who would know that this is an issue???

The staff advised that the family of 3 adults MUST pay for the 2 children as well as they are sitting at the table... even though they were not eating. This was crazy enough but they then said that the adults could eat IF the young children left the table an did not come back during the meal... I mean this is just bizarre... they then proceeded to shout over and say they are not a charity they are a business. Since when is 3 people eating paying for 3 people a charitable act?

It was interesting as on moving on to the sailors home next door, a lot of people in the garden were talking about the experience and that they had too had bad experiences with rude staff.

It was a very bizarre evening but I would definitely recommend the food at the sailors home. It may look a very basic place but the food was excellent and very big portions.

Sadly I won't be giving The Waterfront another chance.

And their response just cements it.. I am the same person as people who have been leaving reviews going back over a year ( i must be sarah, dan, phillp, paul)... I best go get help for my multiple multiple...

We booked at the waterfront when we arrived in Kessingland on friday and were booked in for Tuesday evening after a short curt telephone conversation with a member of staff who I am assuming was the same person who served us when we arrived on the Tuesday evening. It felt like there was a bit if an atmosphere as if we were not welcome, we did arrive about 15 minutes early as we are only staying across the road but my husband has mobility issues so i just wanted to make sure that he could arrive safely. We were shown to our table and told we were early so ordered drinks and waited for our order to be taken etc. Food arrived about half an hour after our booked time most of which was lovely and plentiful (except garlic bread which could of caused a dental catastrophe) but the food wasn't an issue, the service was though and the waitress who served us was quite rude and seemed like she would rather have been somewhere else than serving us although chatted amiably and with a smile to other customers. I understand working in customer service can be demanding but if your having a bad day leave it at the door it is not your customers fault and also if you don't like them for whatever the reason keep it to yourself as it can really spoil somebody's evening. Just to add that we have waited a long while to eat here as we were unable to do so on our last visit a few years ago.I wouldn't recommend purely for the service recieved...

Food was delicious. Waitress was pleasant. BUT… somehow we were left with a feeling that we were a nuisance. There were 6 adults, a two year old and an 8 week old baby in our group. When we tried to phone through an order for sandwiches so that they were ready on arrival we were told that wasn’t possible, we had to turn up and order then. The only table was in full sun- no umbrella. When we asked if we could move if a shaded table became available we were told only if one particular table became free as the others were for different numbers. ( Plenty of vacant chairs inside we could have borrowed) So we took it in turns to take the baby into a bit of shade. The menu said Child Menu available but it wasn’t… I asked for a jug of cold water- only glasses available of luke warm water. When the last two adults arrived ( we had split into 2 groups to save packing up the beach stuff) they were told only sandwiches available and as the gentleman has had stomach cancer and can’t eat bread they asked if the pub next door was serving food . ā€œI don’t know. I never go there.ā€was the short response. This is very much a Take it or Leave it place. We will leave...

We are staying at Heathland Beach campsite in Kessingland, and we walked down into the village. As we wandered down by the gorgeous beach, we stumbled across The Waterfront. What a fabulous place!! So pleased we stopped by. Our lunch consisted of a massive prawn baquette, tortilla chips and a salad. I didn't anticipate how massive the delicious baguette would be!! Fortunately, we managed to munch our way through them. Stuffed!! Nice toilets and lovely staff. When we return to Kessingland (we don't live far away), we'll definitely come back for lunch!! Thank you so much for a lovely experience.

This is a must visit on Paella night (Thursday) I wasn't expecting much but was given everything. Its not just the portion size that I was surprised by but the amount of fresh products, all very tasty. We sat outside as the weather was great, Booking is essential if you want to sit inside but you cant book outside. It was busy but it didn't feel overcrowded or noisey. There's a lovely atmosphere and the staff were great. All polite and friendly. The meal was very well priced at £26 for two, although the paella could easily feed 3 to 4 people. We will certainly return soon.
