Sizewell Tea — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Found this place (August 2021) for a late lunch after a tip-off from the nearby Honda motorcycle museum. It looked closed from a distance as we approached, but that was because they weren't allowing inside dining during the Covid-19 virus pandemic. Luckily the sun was out and so we used the wooden bench tables. All three of us had fish and chips which was very nice with a default and decent side salad, all in a cardboard box. The two young staff I encountered were very courteous and helpful. They even had an outside tannoy to broadcast when your meal was ready. This is a very unassuming cafe in the shadow of two nuclear power stations. It is next to a very nice rustic pebble beach.

I ordered my food and drink at the hatch, I must admit I didn't have very high expectations of the food. My order was taken quickly and my drinks were delivered quickly. The food, bacon roll and chips, where delivered after about 5 minutes. My coffee was good as was the bacon roll. However the chips were absolutely devine - probably close to the best chips I've ever had.

I had no great expectations of this cafe but those expectations I did have were completely exceeded. The prices were reasonable. I look forward...

Popped here after a bit of parkrun tourism with some friends, after a recommendation and I'm grateful I did. There was a little queue but it goes to show how good the pace was. Plus no one minds queuing after a parkrun as everyone just wants to talk about running. The staff were friendly and the system in place for service quick and efficient. I'm disappointed in Google for not allowing me to give more than five stars for food. Really tasty and great...
