Very nice local pub. Casks racked up behind bar - sometimes 4 choices, sometimes 1 choice. Plus 2 German lagers. Various bottled, including 2 low/no alcohol options. Often Earl Soham brewery beers, Mouldon beers, etc. Run by an extremely cheerful and hardworking landlord.
Small menu offers really good options. There seems to be 2 veggie options at all times. Plus clearly labelled re gluten and other intolerances.
Good quality good. Mixed been chilli was very much enjoyed. Well presented in bowl, with a side bowl of excellently prepared rice. Veg Thai curry was, likewise, well done and presented well. Not a gastro pub. More a really genuine and decent pub menu offering.
Atmosphere very friendly. Lovely old interior. Not messed about with or tarted up. Authentic.
Huge garden. Part gravelled, mostly grassed. Sometimes people park overnight in camper vans in the garden!

The food is a real highlight, with well-prepared, generous, and food full of flavour, It’s clear the kitchen takes pride preparing homemade, delicious food with local ingredients. The menu strikes a nice balance between pub classics and more refined dishes.
What stands out most is the sense of potential. The pub already has a solid foundation – characterful surroundings, friendly service, and good food. It’s a real gem in the area. A fabulous pub, and with time this pub will elevate further and reach its desired potential. but as it stands, it’s already a place well worth visiting.
