Very nice local pub. Casks racked up behind bar - sometimes 4 choices, sometimes 1 choice. Plus 2 German lagers. Various bottled, including 2 low/no alcohol options. Often Earl Soham brewery beers, Mouldon beers, etc. Run by an extremely cheerful and hardworking landlord. Small menu offers really good options. There seems to be 2 veggie options at all times. Plus clearly labelled re gluten and other intolerances. Good quality good. Mixed been chilli was very much enjoyed. Well presented in bowl, with a side bowl of excellently prepared rice. Veg Thai curry was, likewise, well done and presented well. Not a gastro pub. More a really genuine and decent pub menu offering. Atmosphere very friendly. Lovely old interior. Not messed about with or tarted up. Authentic. Huge garden. Part gravelled, mostly grassed. Sometimes people park overnight in camper vans in the garden! Looks like they are trying to build a pizza oven/station in the corner of the gravelled area.

Great village pub where polite customers get really well looked after. While living not far away we only discovered the pub when recommended by a friend of a friend. We had our wedding reception there and Stephen and Gaynor were so accommodating with all the last minute menu changes and gave us lots of time to be sure we knew what we wanted. The beer here is always good, the food is lovely and plentiful, and staff really helpful. They now have Sheperds huts to rent which are lovely for couples to escape to.

Enjoyed an excellent burger and generous portion of fish and chips with my partner here on a Friday evening. Busy service but food came quickly with attentive waiting staff. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the evening sun. Selection of real ales and tasty ciders on tap. Great service, great food.

Tucked away in a quiet Suffolk village, this pub has all the charm you’d hope for in a countryside local. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a relaxed, homely feel that makes it just as suitable for a casual pint as it does hearty meal.

The food is a real highlight, with well-prepared, generous, and food full of flavour, It’s clear the kitchen takes pride preparing homemade, delicious food with local ingredients. The menu strikes a nice balance between pub classics and more refined dishes.

What stands out most is the sense of potential. The pub already has a solid foundation – characterful surroundings, friendly service, and good food. It’s a real gem in the area. A fabulous pub, and with time this pub will elevate further and reach its desired potential. but as it stands, it’s already a place well worth visiting.

I can’t wait to keep revisiting this pub and watching it grow into...

Sat here now, I struggle to find the words to accurately describe the distinct quaint charm that the White Lion possesses. A daring mix of sombre traditionality and an energetic, youthful team, the White Lion perfectly treads the line between providing the warm comfort of a rural English pub and the exciting buzz of an establishment eager to explore its potential. A longtime cornerstone of the close-knit Ufford community, it is finally beginning to get its flowers in the wider Suffolk zeitgeist with its frequent events that speak of its dedication to curate an experience that transcends just great food. I am excited to see how it continues to grow and develop in the future and I, for one, am certainly going to be along...
