Ren's Kitchen — Restaurant in Eastbourne

We had the vegan full breakfast. Volume wasnt too bad, but smaller than other places. I would say 2 hash browns or 2 sausages would be good. Definately more button mushroom, ideally chestnut mushrooms rather than a single small flat mushroom. There was too much toast, could have done with just 1 slice cut in two. Was the meal supposed to have beans as its not listed as part of vegan menu? The tofu scramble had a strange corn like taste which was not the best Ive eaten. That might sound very critical and that we didnt like it, but we did like it and would eat it again, but could be improved. Something which we recently had on a vegan breakfast was a small portion of rocket leaves, surprising the peppery taste went well with the meal. It also had hummus which I preferred over avocardo. If I could give more stars I would! After reading previous reviews I wasn't sure what to expect, but for the last 4 months or so I've been a few times. The staff are always so friendly and it has a real community feel. I'm not from this area but it's always nice and chilled at rens even in busier times. I've had the burger and the breakfast and it is delicious. Really generous size portions and the meat quality is excellent and the staff really care that you have a good experience. Especially the chef. I'm yet to work my way through the fresh bakes but the cakes look delicious too. They welcome dogs and also have an 'artist of the week' wall, where customers children art work is displayed. Just a very wholesome place and I can't wait to share more food with loved ones here. Amazing main staff! I really enjoyed the comradery between the girls behind the counter, it made the atmosphere feel positive and inviting.

I had a latte with oat milk along with a large full English breakfast. This all came out in record breaking times (under 10 minutes approx.)

Customers seem to have a friendly rapport with staff but mainly with the main girl (maybe name: Ellie??) She served everyone with a smile and a joke.

Unfortunately after overhearing other customers mentioning that the owner has a negative energy it does deter me from returning. Some customers have been in during his negative talks towards the girls.

It is a shame as everything else seems to work so seamlessly.

1 star so hopefully the owners can see this and change their ways...
