Went for breakfast with a friend. Looks lovely, lots of lovely food on offer, pretty busy as well for a midweek morning. We ordered at the tills, the food was very nice, the service though?! What happened? It seemed that they didn’t really want us there tbh, couldn’t have hurt to smile, surely. I honestly don’t know if I would go again or recommend it. I would for the food and general look/feel of the place but not if the staff act like they don’t want us there. Also they do cover intolerances well although they charged 40p for different types of milk (except soya). My friend had oat milk and was given a tiny amount so asked for more and was given the carton. Also, I had a bottled drink from the fridge and wasn’t offered a glass, although some were stacked nearby so I just took one. Majority of the staff were helpful although one of the less-young women made no eye contact with any of the customers she was taking orders from. It was unfortunate that she seemed unaware how rude it came across, and I watched the elderly couple who ordered before me look slightly affronted by her style as she was distractedly looking anywhere but her customers wildly poking at the till with her nails. Read moreI took some friends for a traditional high tea in the afternoon. The table was reserved and beautifully set up with fine china, cups and saucers and fresh brewed tea. An amazing and beautiful display of various finger sandwiches prepared in the traditional manner. Also came with fresh baked scones, thick filled strawberry jam and fresh looted cream. There was even a third layer with home made shortbread biscuits and the most delightful coffee and walnut cup cakes which were light and fluffy.
